Called at 7:30 am to say I owed taxes and I was going to jail.  Caller was impersonating a federal officer and told me this was my second warning on evading taxes.  I told him this was not true; he replied I was going to get arrested and hung up.  I called back and got a "Magic Jack" message.  I called again and said I wanted to pay taxes and the man said arbitrarily that it was $15,000!  I asked him my tax ID and  he hung up.

This I'm sure is a felony offense to impersonate a federal officer...

I called the guy back and started harassing him. I got out my 2011 tax return, (I know OCD) and started questioning him. He didn't like that too much. I told him I was recording the call and reporting him to the IRS and Treasury Dept. Next day he calls again. I answered "Hello. 911 state your emergency" click. [***] Get a real job you stupid foreign prick.

Got the same call.  Funny I had just filed my taxes like I do this time EVER year.  Might have been a little more believable had it been a none pre recorded message and in an American accent.

Got a call from Steve Martin who was calling from "Treasury Department". I got similar calls a gazillon times last year and they stopped calling at some point. I thought they got busted by authority. Now it came back. I guess they call around at tax time and this will last at least  a few more months... Annoying.

Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan, not much is going to happen there unless the foreign country's decide to co-operate.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Same message--Steve Martin (with a very strong accent) from the treasury department threatening that it was my second offense and I needed to appear before a magistrate judge or some such and that I was in a lot of trouble. This is the second message of this nature I have received. I googled the number and found I was not the only one.  Jerk.

Got the same BS message as everyone else left on my voice mail. The real kicker was that it was a recorded message that cycled over 4 times with the same exact message before terminating. He must have had his machine on some form of loop setting.  What a jerk.

Feb. 19, 2015, at 1:15 pm today I received a phone call from 1-707-637-9215 (Steve Martin) telling me that I was going to be brought before a Magistrate for unpaid taxes.

I called back and a, "Caroline" answered saying she was the Treasury Dept.  I asked why she was trying to scam me.
