- Tom| 1 replyL"Steve Martin" left message that unless I called him back I could be called before a magistrate or grand jury. Not going there.
- Kris| 3 repliesCalled at 7:30 am to say I owed taxes and I was going to jail. Caller was impersonating a federal officer and told me this was my second warning on evading taxes. I told him this was not true; he replied I was going to get arrested and hung up. I called back and got a "Magic Jack" message. I called again and said I wanted to pay taxes and the man said arbitrarily that it was $15,000! I asked him my tax ID and he hung up.
This I'm sure is a felony offense to impersonate a federal officer...- Caller: AT&T
- Call type: Prank
- MidNYteStorm replies to Kris| 1 replyIt is an overseas scam.

Taxes, what a jack [***] calling on a federal holiday he didn't even get it and put two and two together when I asked why he's working on a holiday... SCAM - NY| 1 replyGot a call from Steve Martin who was calling from "Treasury Department". I got similar calls a gazillon times last year and they stopped calling at some point. I thought they got busted by authority. Now it came back. I guess they call around at tax time and this will last at least a few more months... Annoying.
- Caller: Steve Martin, a fake federal officer.
- Tamianth replies to NYMost of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan, not much is going to happen there unless the foreign country's decide to co-operate.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - Maggie JohnsonSame message--Steve Martin (with a very strong accent) from the treasury department threatening that it was my second offense and I needed to appear before a magistrate judge or some such and that I was in a lot of trouble. This is the second message of this nature I have received. I googled the number and found I was not the only one. Jerk.
