It is a scam stating they are from the treasury department and threatening to send you to prison

This number called no less than 5 times today, always a recording saying they're from the treasure dept. and will send you to prison if you don't pay yada yada yada...  The guy has a lispy accented voice. Such an ugly scam.

Received a recorded message saying that the treasury was calling as a second attempt to collect a debt that if not paid would be violating federal law.

Call to avoid having to appear before magistrate for tax issues.

Same as descriptions above.  So far 2 times today within one or 2 hour time period.  Can someone prosecute this guy?

Illegal call..I am on the do not call list.

Receiving multiple calls from a David Kregg (sp?) @ 707-927-1679 stating there is a Treasure Department issue that will send me to jail.  Doesn't mention me by name but claims ignoring the call will result in criminal action.

The caller is a thief!!
1. It is illegal to call yourself a government employee if you are not.
2. Debt is civil, not criminal.
3. Even if you did owe money, jail will NOT happen.
Ignore the caller.

Yep!  Scam call.  Second time the robot has called me.

Called twice today as above. We are trying to report this scam to the IRS.

Threatening caller says they're from treasury dept & will go to jail....

Did not answer since I do not recognize the number.  No message.

Says he's from USf Treasury Dept and we will be charged in Federal criminal court if we don't return call to David Grey.

Caller said this was the second time they'd tried to call me and ignoring their call/failing to respond could lead to serious problems. Mentioned the Treasury etc. I'm completely ignoring this crap for various reasons.... The Treasury Dept does NOT hound you with phone calls. If they have an issue with you, they would send you a letter, even a registered one before taking action. Further this idiot on the phone gave no name, no official company name (just mentions the Treasury Dept), no dept name, no reason nor explanation, AND he gave no toll free number to call back on. All of which are suspicious absentees from any kind of genuine contact. Guy had a Scottish accent for what that's worth.

I just got a call from this number saying he was from the Dept. of Treasury, but he DID give me a name and employee ID number and never actually asked me for money, just told me that the Secret Service would be at my home within 45 minutes to arrest me for not paying back taxes. He also confirmed that my partner had signed for several certified letters. He never asked me to pay what I owed over the phone, so I was actually freaked out. I told him I was going to hang up and call a lawyer and he said OK and hung up. Luckily, I googled this before actually calling my lawyer!!

I am disappointed that my guy didn't have a Scottish accent.

4 voicemail messages this morning!    Scam for sure, I am tired of all these unsolicited calls.

Received several call today. I ID myself as a agent( did not id myself as any agency employee, just agent)  and request his information, They hung up. I guess they didn't want to play.

Same as above...A good way to stop getting calls is to call them back. I spoke with two overseas call center employees. By asking what the issue was (I knew this was a scam, just wanted to see how far I could play anonymously) and stating that the IRS should contact me rather than the dept. of treasury, they blocked MY number. Check mate.
