caller ID showed VW Orland Park -- answered and after brief delay was solicited for funds for Leukemia organization who stated they planned to give gift baskets to patients; not sure if this is legitimate or not but I do not donate to organizations based on phone solicitations

they need to stop repeatedly calling    charity organization or not

Caller had my full name, address, etc.  Claimed to be calling on behalf of a charity.  Bull.  A charitable organization wouldn't use a location as its caller ID and would have announced the name of the charity at the beginning of the call.  Scam, in my opinion.

Caller ID says VW Orland Park.  Actually, soliciting funds for something.  False caller ID usually means scam.  SCAM.

Called wanting a donation for Veterans.  Caller ID said WesternSPG.  Says they will ssend out a ard fordonation of 25, 35 or 50 dollars.

We can be sure it is NOT legitimate, same number showed Western Springs for me.
I never answer any unrecognized number, I wish no one would, I think that's the only way theses scammers would stop. The legitimate ones will leave a message,you can call them back.

708 292-0572 calls regularly. From the comments above, it obviously shows up as if it were from the called party's town. Orland Park, Western Springs, etc. Some report fundraiser for Luekemia, others , Breast cancer. At best it is a third party fundraiser which meaans the actual organization would receive a fraction of donation.

I continue to receive nuisance calls from "WESTERNSPRGS 708-292-0572." They never leave a message. Since they continue to call repeatedly, day after day, I decided to call them back today. I listened to a recording which stated that since they are a charity, they don't have to honor the "Do Not Call Registry." Then, the message stated something about representing numerous charities and that "they would call again soon." They did eventually offer to remove my phone number from their call cycle but stated that it could 30 days or more before they would stop calling. I have no sympathy for these beggars and swindlers.
