Got a text from this number about an investigation with someones name that I don't know???

same here. The text reads verbatim:
"Mario Acosta, please call Investigator Kate Adams regarding case #2481492 at 708-455-1066."

Robo greeter ID themselves as "General Investigative Unit" whatever that is--put you on hold and play creepy music.  Most likely some sort of debt scamming operation.  Could be some group pretending to be law enforcement.  Or maybe a car repo company.  Don't know.  The term "investigator" attached to someone's name is a sure indicator that something is amiss.

My brother just recieved a text asking him to have me by my maiden name or my husband call investigator Kate Adams and gave a case number. First off whoever this is has never attempted to call me and second off why the heck are they asking my brother whom I have never used for any kind of reference on any debt and who doesn't share the same last name because he is my half brother to have me call them? I decided to call so I could tell whoever it was to take a hike. It was an automated system claiming to be an investigation unit which really irritates me, as I am a former police officer. This is a crap tactic to use on people! No one even answers. The automated system asks you to leave a message. I left one alright and haven't recieved a call back.

I keep getting one asking for Joel Aron. I called the first time and actually spoke to someone who apologized and said they would take my number off the list. I got another one today. Same exact message: "Joel Aron, call Investigator Kate Adams regarding (case number)." Luckily, I can block this number from texting me again.

I received same msg but the names ware my husband's ex wife and her now deceased husband. Odd.

I just received numerous text messages from family and friends about this number. i called the number and the Kate girl answers the phone. I immediately tell her that they are wrong for sending this out and she further states that she had a whole list of numbers and didn't know which one was mine. I asked her why would she do that and I proceeded to ask her how many numbers she had and she didn't want to tell me. She was like is that all you are worried about is who I sent the message to and then called me babe. I went off and she hung up. Who can I report this to? I am so mad about this.

This is a repo company looking for a vehicle, car, motorcycle, boat - whatever you used as collateral.

Shane Jackson or Samantha Jackson please call investigator Kate Adams at 708-455-1066 reagrding case #_______. Do not know anyone by that name!

I received the same text message.  No phone call.  Giving me a case number and Kate  Investigator.  Surely a scam.  708-455-1066

That would be none of the above. .so now what?

Same here asking for rosie Morrsie about a case regarding some other random guy..no idea who these people are ..I also have no bad debt and haven't used anything for collateral so this is spam for sure.  We should be able to report this to authorities

Just now texted my husband and parents but not me? Said they were looking for my car. Told her I gave that up in my bankruptcy last year...

I see this story started 4 years ago, and "investigator" Kate Adams is still active. I ain't got any messages or calls from her, yet she sent messages to my brothers, cousins, even my ex-wife. And we've been divorced for 15 years now...
