Received a call on 01/31/2014 at 1:40 PM.  Did not leave voice mail.  Caller ID shows "Serve Power."

They just hung-up when I answererd

Same thing, hang up, thought it was someone I recognized, disconnect as soon as I pick up.

Just called with the usual no message.

I just got a call from this #. Didn't pick up, phone rang once then said missed call.

When I answered, a recorded message said the call was from ComEd and that I was eligible for a new discount and to hit "5" to see what discount I was eligible for.  Then the call was dropped.

I thought the phone call dropped to but I stayed on and someone picked and asked if I had my bill ready. I didn't and scheduled a new time for them to call me back. I'm just trying to figure out if this is legit or not.

They called just now, no message.  I'm deeply frustrated with unknown callers..  This one is not their first.  I dialed back & got a recorder..   Stop!

Got the same "Com Ed" robo call fro 708-571-0409 ..... on my cell phone which immediately triggered me to hang up as Com Ed does *NOT* have my cell phone as the "billing telephone number". Next stop the FTC site to report/complain ..... for whatever good that does.

I received the same call about being "eligible for a discount" a few minutes ago. Hung up once it got to the option to "Press 5 to be transferred to a representative." Not sure whether its a telemarketer or not.

Called my cell phone while I was in waiting room.  Didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number.  I'm pretty selective who I give my cell phone # to, so suspected a telemarketer.  If its important, whoever calls can leave a message.  Glad we have places like this to report the number and confirm our annoyance.  Thanks to all who contribute.

Unwanted call

Its a telemarketing firm. The call I got was they were telling me I was eligible for a reduced electric rate. They wanted my com ed account number. When you give them that they switch you over and sign u up with another company.I told the guy with the 3rd world accent....if you are truly Com Ed you would have my account number in your system. DONT SIGN UP. THE HIDDEN ELECTRIC SUR CHARGES ARE 3TIMES HIGHER THAT WHAT YOU PAY NOW.

This number just called me. I was just walking in the door. I saw it was a number I didn't recognize. I turned my machine off so my fax machine would kick in. The next step is that this number will go on my junk fax block list so I won't be bothered by these scammers ever again! IF this was a legitimate caller from ComEd as others here say this "company" is claiming to be, then the caller ID would say "ComEd." Do not be fooled!

Called my cell, didn't answer, no message left.

Thanks for your answer.  I received a call last night on my landline from the telemarketer you described and I hung up on the guy.  I just received another call from the telemarketer on my cell phone and didn't answer.  Now I know who it was and I'll continue to not answer!  Thanks!
