Same number as 210-503-0237

Just got a call from 708-983-7990 saying they have a claim against me.  A loss mitigation department...this is the 4th or 5th call I've gotten, the last one had a 210 area code.

Received yet another call from 701-575-0313 with a message to call back to 708-983-7990. I have called back and explained I owe NOTHING.  I asked them to forward this supposed debt to me to review. They said they do not have (lie) and then threatened to turn this over to the courts. I advised them to go ahead because their claim is obviously NOT legitimate! SCAM!

They call from a 209-400-2547 number but want you to call 708-983-7990 stating there is a claim against me. They call all the time from different numbers and frankly, I am tired of them calling. This is a big scam trying to get money. I legal matters were going to occur, they would send it through the mail. How do you get them to stop calling!!!!!

Adding similar notes. I finally called them back as they were harrassing family members, and calling my place of employment with these robo calls.

After being on hold for approx 8 min, I was asked if I wanted more information about this debt. I advised not over the phone, legally you must provide me written communication to my current address. They said they "sent" this to an address I haven't lived at in more than 10 years, and that was all they were required to do. I reiterated I was not going to discuss over the phone without this written documentation which I could not have physically recieved and they threatened to, and ultimately ended the call on me advising that since I was not willing to rectify it with them at that time, they were turning me over to the county.

I will be submitting, yet another, complaint on them to consumerfinance.gov with this extra information and asking that they be shut down if feasible, as well as any victim who paid an invalid debt to them be notified to seek legal recourse for recovery.

I have had relatives called and calls at work claiming to be from the "Division of Processing" of "Access Processing" and claiming that I owe them $430.00.  When I ask for proof of any debt in writing they either begin to argue or hang up.  They say they have mailed me proof of a bill, a mailing I have never received.  What sort of recourse do we have to people doing this?  The calls often come from other numbers as well, including 217-666-9815.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

I received a Robo-Call from 423-5237-7421 which is in Newport, TN, Cocke County and is a wireless number on the New Cingular Wireless Pcs, LLC network stating that I was named as a respondant on a file and that if I wanted to state my position I should call 708-983-7990 which is Chicago Heights, IL, Cook County and is landline number. Neither number could supply me with any hard copy evidence of the supposed debt. This is a SCAM to highest degree and all should be on the look out and NOT send them any money, agree to any debt or supply them with any further personal details.

Keeping get calls at home and on my cell telling me I owe money. They won't every tell me the name of the company just that they will serving me with summons or legal papers. The number they keep telling me to call back in 708-983-7990, but call from different numbers with area codes 206 or 509. What a scam!

Same thing  is happening to me.  Doesn't matter if you report the,, they just keep getting new numbers.  These people are criminals and should be in jail

They just called my work phone and my cell phone today. Same number (708-983-7990), same threats as others are noting. Telling me that i need to call right away. I am the respondent in a case against me.  I haven't called back. I just googled the number and got here. I see no reason to call back.

I too keep receiving calls.  The caller ID number is spoofed to reflect a phone number in Manhattan, Montana, 406-284-1714.  They say that you or your legal council need to call right away when this message is received 708-983-7990.  Then they refer to a file number, and state the respondent as my deceased son.  These people are calling 2 or 3 times a day.  I don't even answer my home phone anymore, as this is only one of several scams that are calling right now.  These people make me want to jerk my phone out of the wall!!

Yep . . same here. I got a call/message twice a day in the last 2 days. It pops up as a local number on the caller ID  . . but instructs to dial this number 708-983-7992. This is an ongoing scam regarding a supposed online payday loan. Never applied for one . . hmmmm. This is not standard procedure to collect any type of debt . . . so RED FLAG right there. You would receive something in the mail in writing showing legit details. Like dates and accounts numbers etc.
I do not answer . . IGNORE. I write these numbers down and report to proper authorities. Reported to the State's Attorney Generals Office, FCC, and my local police.

Correction on the number 708-983-7990

My cell phone rings contantly from 423-237-7421 they finally left a message using my daughters name with a case number threatening legal action for her or her lawyer to call 708-983-7990 !

How does numbers 423-237-7421. 723-994-2027 404-891-9012. 615-258-5524 get my cell number? Constantly calling only left one message !! Even recieved call from 000-000-0000 really!! How can I stop this ?

The "Processing Department" has continually called relatives - relatives I have NEVER used as a reference and one with whom I have minimal contact stating that they are looking for me and beginning "legal process."  I called back and was given information about a "debt" (payday loan) that is over 5 years old.  They had my information but old address.  The only date I've been provided with thus far was one year AFTER I moved from the address they gave me.  They wanted immediately meant,  I stated that couldn't happen and was told I could try and wait until later in the month.  About a week later, phone calls started again (different relative) on,y now I have 2 accounts with them.  I requested that they quit harassing relatives and they apologized abs stated their numbers had been removed from my file.  Because I'd already checked them out on this site, I requested documentation of debts and they hung up on me.  I'm not even going to bother anymore.

Numbers keep calling relatives. TWO of them have asked that they no longer be contacted. ONE of them was laughed at and said, "No, if you want us to quit contacting you,then you pay it. We're not going to quit calling until we get the money".

Funny because they won't give me information regarding my supposed debt. I have advised them that they will need to talk to my attorney. They call anyway. They won't return phone calls to my attorney either. So frustrated.

I have received several calls from this same number telling me that I was named respondent on a file and that I needed to call this number. Then it says that this call is solely intended for someone that doesn't even live here and never has. I haven't returned the call and they have left multiple messages on my voice mail.

I have received several calls from 479-235-6345 saying to call 708-983-7990, no information given just that it is in for final review. Back in March a scammer called my mother saying I was going to be arrested if I didn't pay. It was a scam and I fell for it but cancelled my card and told the bank what happened and now these people are calling.  It makes me nervous but my husband is onto them. Crazy!
