This guy said his name was Joseph Aravibic (sp?) and was from the DEA asking to speak with my husband stating he had "purchased illegal drugs online and was being investigated." When I didn't cooperate he threatened to "bring me in to show me what obstruction of justice was all about." When I told him I would not give the satisfaction of scamming me out of money, he said he "would see me shortly when he came to arrest me." He then hung up on me.....what an idiot! I will be calling my local sheriff's dept to report him. The # that showed up on my caller ID was 713-287-1027.

Sorry you had to deal with the crap but at least you had "fun" with him. It's a well-known scam.   Here's the real DEA's warning on the scam.  Thanks for posting.  :)

He did the same thing to me.

He said I had illegally purchased "non-pharmaceutical" materials...which is in fact true if you go back about 25 years AND if you mean illegal weed. I jumped online to see what the statute of limitations is and thank God I found this site instead. He also said they had a warrant to search my house.

He just did the same thing to me as well and little does he know I was a cop for seven yrs my brother is actually a secret service agent in charge at this present time to protect the president and on top of everything else my brother in law is a criminal lawyer.  Wrong person to mess with [***]!

I received the same call this morning (Jan 28 2015) from a person who identified himself as joseph arvy or arveet. I couldn't understand the last name.  He stated that he was a DEA agent out of the Houston Office investigating on line pharmacutical companies.  I have received these same type of phone calls twice before  and was also threatened to be arrested and fined.  I contacted the local law enforcement who advised me it was a scam.  I have called the houston DEA office to report this recent incident am I am awaiting for their call back .  Don,t fall for this scam.

Received the same call, same story. How is this number still not deactivated?? Sent info to  DEA.
