Fifteen calls in a short time. No messages left.

Yea, they call twice in a row, to bother you.  Who is this????

I got 2 calls from this number.  The first one I didn't answer it only showed the number.  The second time they called I answered and it was a call from a correctional facility in Minnesota.

I wasn't home to receive the call but it sounded like it was from a prison...a recorded message on my voice mail but I only got half of it. They wanted me to pay a fee to receive the call. Weird.

I got the same call, from the same number, just last night.  I did get a Houston, Texas come up on my caller ID with that same phone number.  My daugher answered, heared a recording and then hung up.  The second time was right behind the first, I answered, got only a half a second of the recording when they hung up.  I'm wondering if a calling card is involved?

I received this call @ work (university).  There was a brief msg sounded like a male but couldn't hear clearly...then a computer announced that it was from some correctional facility and gave me an option to accept, block, etc...I blocked that call!!!!  It's probably a weirdo that doesn't have anybody to call and is in JAIL!

Got a call today, same number as the rest of you folks. Yeah, it was an attempt at a collect call from a correctional institution, no "from" name given.

Strange that such a number wouldn't identify itself as a particular facility, but from (long past ;) experience, could just be a lonely bored trustee in a penal facility...

This number is associated with a Co. that facilitates prison calls; which is called Global Tel Link.  I do accept calls from someone I know in a Georgia Prison.  When I first received  a call from the number with the 713 area code; I hung up because I did not know anyone in this area code.  

What is strange is that the Caller ID use to show up as the name of the prison which is Georgia State Prison in Reidsville, GA.  Well the prison is still in Georgia but the calls that I receive from this person now come through this 713 number (Houston).

The Global Tel Link system is a prepaid system and you cannot receive collect calls unless there is money on your account.  When the amount of calls reach the preset limit calls cannot get through until more money is posted on the account.    

In Georgia a prisoner cannot just call a random phone number.  Any number that they call has to be in the prison computer system under the inmates ID code as a way of tracking.    

Hmm this 713 this is quite strange... as I said the calls I receive use to show up Georgia now they show up (713-574-1101).

I just got this call. called twice, no message. my son is in a correctional facility that uses global tel link. but this is the first time it has come through on this number.Previous calls from Global Tel Link showed up as an 866 number. Too expensive for my poor blood though!! he's getting letters now!

I received a call twice from the same number but my phone was breaking up so all I heard was "Correctional Facility". My mom called the operator and said it came from Texas, but I don't know anyone in Houston Texas so..... weird

I live in MN, so the call could have came from a prison here?

This call is from a jail/prison. I am a foster parent. some of my kids are now adults who made some bad mistakes and now they are in prison. If they are calling me it's because they have no family members that care enough about to take a collect call.

I have taken collect calls when Brian was near me.
He was only allowed to talk for 15 min. per call (so they can get more money)
The calls were about 5.00 ea. I did not have a problem with my phone bill. I was not charged unfairly as the link above was. He only called me 2x a month.
Now I don't know where he is, somewhere in the same state as I am.
when he was in my calling area the caller id came up Global Tel Link.
Now it is coming up as the phone number that is at the start of this blog.

We have had calls from this number a few times late at night, like about 11-12 midnight, and it's really annoying and it ticks me off, I caught it this time and I heard something about collect call and what sounded like to be part of a recorded message but couldn't understand much of the entire thing, then it was disconnected, I can't figure out where it is coming from and would like it to stop.

oh btw.. this is following up on my last post, I do live in Minnesota too and I see that some other people are saying something about MInnesota in regards to this number.

Got 2 calls within 5 minutes - didn't recognize the # and was busy, so let it go to voicemail, but they left no message.  So I googled the # and found this!  Good to know what to expect if they call again.

Got a call from this number last night and googled it. I'm concerned about a possible scame to charge me money for the collect call. It was a missed call, too.

i have recieved about 8 calls by this number 1-713-574-1101. I thought they had wrong number. Then it asked for the collect call thing. This made me angry. I don't know anyone in jail upon looking. I'm calling the police on this!!!

the call i got was from 713-5744-1101 the recording said this number does not accept collect calls, than the call went dead. I tried to call it back but it did not let me. it a houston number. can some one please tell where this number is for.

I receive calls from this number.  It is a correctional institutioon in Virginia.  Apparently the same company runs all calls from correctional institutions all over the U.S.
