Received calls from this phone number.

This a collect call from an inmate

From an inmate? Really? Are they allowed to have cell phones?

Didn't answer...has anyone answered?  What happened?

Yeah I answered and it was recording saying this number doesn't accept collect calls and to call a number about global cash adnace or some crap like that.

This morning I got an automated message from Global Tel Link saying that an inmate attempted to call me.  The message went on to ask that I call Global Tel Link.  I did.  The automated system directed me through a series of prompts until finally saying that an "agent" will call me back within two hours.  So I'm waiting on that.  I'll update when (if) I hear back.

Also got several calls w/no message today.. from the last post sounds like an automated system verifying whether the number is being used to be added to some list.  Could be wrong but wouldn't dare call it myself.

An inmate at Alton Correctional Center for Women..... yadda yadda yadda.  Can't find any such place in or near Houston.to be a 713 area code, it would have to be in downtown Houston.  Even with different spelling variations, could find any women's correctional facilities any where in the country. By the looks of the posts this must be a pretty new scam.

I've been getting daily calls from 713-581-8050.  I cannot get the caller to quit calling my cell phone.

this number keeps calling my cell phone.  I think is a collect call from an inmate but I don't knowy any inmates in texas.  Please stop calling my phone.  or I will report it to the police for harrassment.

I got one of these calls yesterday.  I called it back and it said that the number was not in service.  I do know 2 people who are inmate one is in NC and the other is in FL.  The one in FL. I have a myvconnect for her to call me.  Not sure about the NC one.... The area code is a houston, tx area code

I am getting calls from this number at home and on my cell phone.  Does anyone know how to block it I don't know anyone in texas.  It is getting annoying.  It is saying that I am not eligible to recieve collect calls from this number.  Is this another scam?

Just received call did not answer left message on voice mail stating not eligible to receive collect calls from this number.  In process of filling out paper-work forwarded to my nc state attorney general ..... on the do not call list... sounds like a marketing scam

it is an inmate calling and they do not have to be in texas, in my case he is nc. im not sure why is has the texas area code.

I didn't talk to the person, because I missed the call all together.

Probably a inmate calling from NC . They can make collect calls but if it is to your cell phone you can not except collect calls on a cell phone. Have them call your land line or have a prepaid calls thrught some State approved telephone service.

This number is a telephone link from an female inmate in NC. to a residence landline in NC.  Its just happens to route thru Texas. Parent Co. is Global Tel Link or GTL.net

It is the NC division of prisons phone service can pay this comp. to be able to receive calls on a cell otherwise have to accept the call on a land line to get charged a prisoner from a NC prison is attempting to contact someone it is a legitimate company.

I got a call from this number, I don't know who it was. Do you think that I can find out.
