I received a robo call from this number. It the IRS is filing suit on me. I was to return a call to make arrangements for settlement. I received the same message from what sounded like the same voice 2 days ago. However, it was from a different number which is listed on this site as a scam.

Received a call from this number on 2 consecutive days. They claim to be the IRS. I actually called back, knowing full well that this was a scam. I.R.S has great customer service, as they picked up on the first ring. Scary part was that they knew my name. I told them in very specific terms what I felt they should do to themselves. Surprisingly, the woman with the thick Indian accent hung up on me. Guess they don't want my money that bad

A man, who had an accent, called stating the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me. I told him that the IRS does not call people. Then I told him I would hunt him down & make him want to go back to his native country.

Have received repeated calls from this number and other numbers with the ROBO voice and people.  When I've looked for the numbers they bring me to sights such as this one explaining this was a scam.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got a voicemail with a Robo voice saying IRS needed to get ahold of me so I called back. Indian woman answered, called herself Karen Cooper (yeah right) gave me some bogus employee number and said IRS was filing suit against me for incorrect taxes I filed and said I had outstanding $4985 debt but we could avoid it by wiring $1985 of it via money gram from Walmart (lol). Told her I have my taxes professionally done and there must be an error (admit I was kinda worried especially since they knew my name and previous home address which later I found out is not that hard to obtain). She said that I could come to her office in Houston, Texas to resolve the matter (knowing damn well I can't fly out to Texas from Cali at the drop of a hat) or we could avoid the lawsuit by making an installment of $1985 now and payment plan. I'm pissed she took up most of my lunch break with this crap and after I told her I would call her back after work, the same number called me 6 times in a row before I could even block it. Found this site, thanks everyone. Sounds like the same Indian [***] trying to scam us.

They called at 7:13 am. I didn't answer and the robo voice had started talking before my voicemail started recording. All I got was "...lawsuit. To contact our offices..." and it told me to call them back. I knew it was BS from the moment I heard a robot say "lawsuit."

I also received a robo call. I called them back - a man with a heavy Indian accent answered on the first ring.  He said I owed the same amount to the IRS as everybody else ($4985.93). Distributing they have my name, cell number and address. When I asked him a question - he asked me if I wanted to go to jail and hung up on me...! TOTAL SCAM...

Thanks to everyone for posting. I am so close to just getting rid of my home phone. I'm so tired of these and other sales calls. I have the same story as everyone else. It's an obvious scam. Keep in mind that the IRS, or any other government agency, would send a letter notifying you of an issue. They would never call you as a first point of contact.

I got a call from Karen Cooper today stating that I was getting sued by the IRS for a tax audit from 2008-2013 for the same amount of $4985. She said that there was a lean out on my name and the IRS had been trying to reach me via mail but because I had not responded I was getting sued. I have been stressed all morning long till I found this site saying that its a scam.
