This number belongs to the VA Hospital on Holcombe in Houston.  Switchboard main line, hundreds of extensions.

1st call 2:40 am. It woke me up, caller I.D. was U.S. Gov. It went to the answering machine and was static followed by what sounded like someone pulling thier zipper up. Figured it was Security Guard that sat on thier phone. 2nd call was at 3:00 am. I answered it, It was a lady with a heavy Louisiana accent
(drunk) asking for Joe. I said no, she hung up. Not even 5 minutes later she calls again. Now my wife & kids are awake. I asked her to stop calling that she woke the whole house. She apoligized and said she would stop. I am writing this because now I am wide awake and have to get up in 20 minutes.

call from this number is random. every few months. just found out its va houston through comments thanx. no answer ever on other end. thought it was xwife bothering me

About a year ago I moved and got a new phone number, it must have belonged to some "dead beat" as "people (collection agencies)" keep calling and asking for Joe ..... Usually I don't answer the phone unless it's someone I know, anyway I got a call, which caller ID indicated was from the "US Government" so I answered, someone asked for this "dead beat", I said there was no one here by that name, I asked who was calling they said the VA Hospital. But I suspect it's some collection agency scam !!  They can change the "Caller ID" to whatever they want.

After doing a bit of research it seems it is possible to change your out going phone ID and number to any in coming caller ID and number your phone has captured. This of course takes a bit of know how, but from what I've read it can be done, which makes me even more suspect of these US Government calls for known "dead beats".  I guess the best way to find out is say you are the person they are looking for and see what happens !!

Got a call from the same number and caller ID as above.  When I picked up the phone (without saying anything) I heard the end of an automated message (clear female voice), "....if you want to accept the call press 1, or if you want to leave a voice mail press 2."  I hung up without doing anything.  I read that VOIP calls can be made displaying anything they want in the caller ID, and I believe this is one of those cases.

We received a call from this number with the caller ID showing US Govt. and had no idea what it was about. Upon researching the number on the internet we found it was from the VA Hospital in Houston. Since we have been trying to obtain VA benefits for a family member who served in the military in the 60's and who's become completely incapacitated due to heart attack and mulltiple strokes, we were thrilled to find that they were finally dealing with his case. This number is NOT from bill collectors or solicitors of any kind!

The number is for the Houston VA, but the call may not originate from them. It's another case of numbers being spoofed, so be careful. I got this call at 5:48 MST this morning, no one will call outside of reasonable hours from the VA.

Looks like a call from the VA hospital in Houston, but I did not answer and they did not leave a message.  Maybe it was my imagination, but the phone did not seem to ring normally - a long interval between rings.

Got the call while driving so I im'd "driving call you when stopped" an error message came back that the number was not legible (1 1216-11) so I'm guessing va number was a cover.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that got a call at 2:30 in the morning.  I suppose that if you would answer they can get you to do anything since you are asleep.  First night I was able to get sleep and I get this call.

Or it's a scammer spoofing the number.
