Has called several times this week. I won't turn my recorder on because I don't want to. No name shows up just the number.

Called back - it says, "you have been contacted for marketing research, or a sales call."

Thought if you were on the no call registry you wouldn't be getting these calls.

The Do Not Call Registry is a joke.  I have been on the registry since it started and I am still getting calls, many from numbers I have reported numerous times.  Just another bureaucratic program with no teeth.

Scammers couldn't care less about the Do Not Call registry.  Reporting them does not keep them away either.  I just let calls go to voicemail.  Most won't leave a message.  After awhile they stop calling and then someone else starts calling.  My attitude is that MY phone is for MY convenience, not theirs.

Easy fix, buy a phone with " block number" feature. Then when they call  just block them from doing it again..

Had a call from 713-893-4872 this morning. Just says UNKNOWN NAME.

It says the samething when it calls me and I want it stopped now.

They are calling me.  Glad the ones before me had posted, so I would know who these ppl are.  Love this site.

Caller (computer) says "don't hang up  there have been robberies  in your neighborhood".  Then they proceed to ask if you're interested in some kind of alarm system. press 1 for yes 2 for no

I received 2 calls from this number. I believe they pass my number around. I have the same robo anouncments from other numbers. They are trying to sell a home security system. Said I should dial1 to talke to a live operator, or dial 9 to be taken off their phone list. After the anouncment I told them I don't have to dial anything, because I am on the "Do Not Call List"... and I will be reporting this number to that link.

Wanted to sell me a home security system.  I listened to the message and selected the option to have my name removed from the list, and have done so several times, with no success, they keep calling, from different numbers.

I recd four calls in the last two days. The 2nd call I asked the girl to be taken OFF THE LIST. She hung up on me!    Today I recd two calls  at 11:40am  and 11:41am.
They start by sales "you have been selected for either a sales call or survey call. "
This one was for the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) for a national immunization survey on the use of cel phones.  
THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY DOES NOT WORK!

Never EVER press "2" to have your number taken off the list. They are only doing this to verify that their robo-dialer has indeed hit a legitimate number. If you request to be taken off their list, you are in fact only going to quadruple the illegal calls you receive.

The DNC doesn't apply to these people... because they're criminals. It's like wondering why a burglar is ignoring trespassing laws.

Best thing to do is ignore, send calls to silent, try not to get too aggravated... and wish these scumbags a slow, painful death.

These thieves know nothing about my neighborhood.  To the people that write in these blogs "I am on the do not call list", Get a life. Scammers DO NOT care about a do not call list, just as bank robbers don't worry about your money beng safe in the bank.

There is no way to get a hold of a person.  If you call the number its an automated message.  I had opted for #2 which is to be removed from the mailing list, however I am suspecting that is is to confirm the number is working.
