Left a VM - a man with a VERY heavy Indian or [***] accent identifies himself as Tim Johnson of the Investigation Division of the IRS and says this message is intended for someone whose name I haven't heard. I couldn't listen to the rest of the message I was laughing so hard. Tim Johnson!

The caller identified herself Crime Investigation Dept. of the IRS.  Letting us know that there is a warrant out for our arrest due to IRS Fraud.  When I was transferred to the supervisor, I was informed that I could pay some money to protect ourselves???????
Really!

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I got a call today from a guy name Ron Jefferson saying that I am being arrested for fradulent taxes over the past 10 yrs.  

a man with a heavy accent  , claiming to be "Peter Ryan" wanted to let us know of a warrant issued for me.
Before it could "executed" though, i need to call him..lol
I'll get right on it "Pete" my man, right on it..

the voicemail was for my husband from a man with heavy indian accent saying he had a warrant and before they would call local police to call this number..713-931-3615 to settle the matter  ..this has been the 2nd call in 8 mnths

A man with a heavy Indian accent called saying he had a warrant for my arrest for tax fraud and that before he turns it into my local police department, I should call him at this number to settle it first. Gee, how original...  I wonder how he thinks we can settle it--- Money, ya think? I'll be calling you asap, Simon!! Yeah, riigghhtttt......

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

 Mr. Heavy Accent called me and said the police would be coming by in 15 minutes to arrest me for tax evasion.  I told him that I didn't believe him because this is not IRS protocol.  He told me not to leave my house and to not run from the law.  I said that I would wait and thanked him, he was only doing his job.  I wished him a nice day.  He didn't reciprocate.  Then I got upset.  How dare you not wish me to have a nice day as well.  This is common courtesy.  He complied and hung up.
 When the police didn't show, I called him back and pled for mercy and admitted that I speed.  I set the cruise at 5 mph over the stated limit.  I am guilty.  He hung up again.  So I texted him and requested Kosher food in jail.  It's just yummier.
 Hope I didn't annoy him.  I used to compete with my roommates to see how long we could keep a telemarketer on the phone.  

I received a message from a woman with Indian accent about a warrant for my arrest.  Called number spoke with a male with a Indian accent.  He wasn't convincing, didn't sound serious, but tried to keep me on the phone.  I asked for the address of the person with my name and he gave me a bogus address.  

A man with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be Alex with the IRS but the call was not for me. It was for someone named Mary. I tried calling the number back but got an advertisement for Magic Jack and that the number I was calling wasn't set up yet and was disconnected. I have received 2 calls from the same person
