Got a call from this number. Didn't recognize the area code, so I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. The call was made at 5:15 pm CDT.

got a call at 5:46pm PST
male caller with a heavy accent asking if this is a business.
he said he's with Great Destinations.
he was persistent saying "he's not trying to sell anything"

got a call from an old lady
also said she was from Great Destinations
she asked my location and said "i'm not trying to sell you anything"
I replied not interested and they rudely hung up.

I received multiple phone calls from this number. Some with voicemails and some without. I got one today, he left a voicemail, and slowly said my first name in a CREEPY voice. Telemarketers are annoying, but this one was actually trying to scare me on purpose...and of course it's not a legitimate business so there's no way to report this person directly. I blocked the phone number.

Received numerous calls from these people on an old number. Recently changed my number and I just got a  call from these people AGAIN. Now how the [***] they got my new number is what blows my mind. We need to find out who these people are.

This is a rather long answer to some posters who seem to think the scammers use the DNC list to obtain numbers to call, or who think the DNC list does not work, or do not know how the scammers found their phone numbers.   If you are not one of those people, consider exiting this informative lesson now.

Since you are still here, you need some help.  Allow me to present it in a very simple fashion ... not to insult your intelligence, but to attempt to get the idea across to even those who have difficulty understanding more complicated answers.

If you answered "yes", that is a good start.  Try counting from 1 to 10 now.  I will wait.

I want you to think "0" instead of "10".  Got it?
Now, get a piece of paper and a pen or pencil, and write down those 10 numbers.  Here, I will help you, in case your forgot:

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Now get ready to write down some more numbers.  I want you to write them down in the following format:
ABC-DEF-GHIJ
Yes, I know those are letters, but I want you to use numbers, instead.
Think of a number between 0 and 9 ... pick one from the list I gave above, if you wish.
Write it down, instead of the "A", above
Do that nine more times, writing it down instead of the other letters.
Now, look at the result.
Does it ring a bell?
It should, because you just wrote down a phone number!

Mr Computer is very good at making numbers.
Mr Computer can do what you just did in a fraction of a second.
In other words, Mr Computer can make and dial phone numbers VERY quickly.

Spammers and scammers who know about Mr Computer do not need to register and buy the DNC list.
Spammers and scammers who know about Mr Computer can even dial "unlisted" numbers, or "private numbers" or "brand-new numbers you just got"!
The DNC list is not a magic switch that blocks these calls from reaching your phone.  It is merely a list.

There, now you know all about how spammers can dial YOUR phone number, even if it is unlisted, and even if only relatives know it, and even if it is on or off the DNC list.

I hope that helps prove the DNC list DOES work!  It helps prevent calls from registered / legitimate telemarketers, but it is not able to stop calls from telespammers.  It is also NOT designed to stop political callers (who usually get the numbers from voter registration lists), calls from charities, or some other companies, such as debt collectors.

Again, I hope I did not insult your intelligence ... if you had any to insult.

I received a call from these same [***] at 4:50 pm cst. on a Sunday no less....and swore they were not selling anything and said She was from Direct  Buy....She had a very heavy SABOO accent...What a [***].

so I Hung-Up. Will file a complaint with www.do not call.com. They did call at 7:34PM on
06/02/2015.

They called and didn't leave a message. Tried to call back several times and there's a recording saying the number is invalid. Weird.

Got two phone calls and they did leave a message with nothing in it....

Very rude person saying my manager wants to talk to me......then hung up

Another scammer calling but refused to speak to my machine. The caller id said "Out of Area", typical for a scammer. A reverse trace was blocked, no surprise there. However, three locations came up (two in Placentia and one in Irvine all in California) along with one shady phone service provider of M Power Communications Corp.-CA. Anyone who hides is a scammer, no legitimate business would ever hide their name and address. Definitely block this number and report it to the FTC, State Attorney General so there is record of its usage.
