- puzzledThis number keeps calling my job. I called the number back and the background sounded extremely busy and the man had what sounded like an Indian accent. I dont live even live on the west coast so i'm quite confused to how they got my work number. He was very rude and said he was calling from Monetary Crime Firm. I could not find any info regarding a firm with that name. I think it's a scam. I refused to give out info.
- MoeWho the hell are these people? They keep on calling me. About some payday loan or fraud or something???
- scared to death then mad as heck| 7 repliesSomeone called and said that his name was Scott Miller from some law firm, he was foreign, probably Indian and Somalian and said that I had taken a payday loan out and they were going to arrest me for fraud. First of all, I never did that and second of all these people are crazy. Watch out for them, do not give them any information. My question is first of all how did they get my work number and my daughter and brother's names? Also, who are they? They are obviously scam artists, not very good ones and I reported them to Americredit, who is the company they say they are representing, then reported it the police, sheriff's office and the GBI. DO NOT give into them and do NOT give them any information. How they are getting it is scarey enough to think about. I am sorry that we are having to go through this, but if enough people report them to the authorities, maybe they can shut them down and arrest them!!!!
- Caller: Monteray Crime Law Firm
- Moe replies to scared to death then mad as heck| 6 repliesI agree. I will be reporting them to the FBI this morning. They already have enough of my information. Now I have to close my bank account--BIG HEADACHE-- but I have to do it. I will keep posting about this until this "operation" is shut down.
- Josh from CT replies to Moe| 1 replyI have gotten a copuple of these calls. Same deal, payday loan, arrest me for fraud, yada yada. Total scam. Im reporting them to the CT state attorney Generals office. If you try to call this number you get either a busy signal or it rings and disconnects.
- Anne for MN| 6 repliesI got a call on 03/02/09 stating I would be arrested for not paying back a "payday" loan I took out in 2007. They even knew my sister-in-laws name. I freaked out and they have gotten $1495 from me. I have since then closed my bank account, and made a report to the police department. The bank is going to try and help me get my money back.
The information I got out "Jack Davidson" who sounds Indian or Somalian, is that they are calling on behalf of American Credit Services. They would not give me their phone number. He said the attorney company they are calling from is: Crime Monitoring Division, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92805.
Please do not give them any information and hope my example helps. I am glad I found this website when I did so I can report to the proper authorities.- Caller: Crime Monitoring Division

- Moe replies to Anne for MNThey are defintely a fraud. I have reported them to my local FBI office and they are on it. I will keep you guys posted. I'm closing out my bank account tomorrow.
- JDWhat the heck!! I got a message on my work phone from someone with an Indian accent but I can barely understand. He said his name is Anthony Clark (or something like that). He told me that it was very urgent that me or my attorney calls them immediately but left no company name. He said some threatening stuff and ended with "best of luck to your kids". THAT IS NOT RIGHT!!!! I AM STEAMING RIGHT NOW AND I AM NORMALLY A LEVEL HEADED PERSON!!!! I tried to call but it is busy. I hope that I do get through so I can give him a piece of my mind.
- JDI got in touch with someone. They said that they are calling from a law firm with American Credit Services. They claim that I took out money from a payday loan and never repaid it. They have my work #, cell #, bank acct #, address, aunt's name and best friends name. I do remember that I did look into a payday loan and filled out an application. But the terms were ridiculous so I never completed the app or accept the loan. I NEVER received any money. He gave me the date that I supposedly got the money. I checked my bank statement online and there was no record of the money going into my account. I am still nervous though since they have all my info. I hate to close my account but think that I may have to. FUC*ERS!!!!! WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO SLEAZY?????

- Vincent M.| 1 replyThese idiots called my house, my friends house and threatened the police on me and both my friends tomorrow. I never took a loan out from these people nor did I give any personal information or information of my friends or anything. They stole my SS number, and other personal information. I suggest anybody who may have gotten a phone call from these jerks to file a complaint with the FTC- their website it: www.ftc.gov. Does anybody have a mailing address for these jerks- my attorney is looking to serve them with papers. Another suggestion is to call your bank and put a fraud alert out and file a police report.
- Josh replies to Vincent M.They said the best of luck to your kids to me 2. I dont even have kids and this made me angry.
- JD replies to Anne for MNI was just curious on how the company got the $$ from you. Did you authorize for them to take the money or did it just come out of your account? I've had my account for almost 20 years and don't want to close it unless I have to. I hope that you are able to get the money back!! Best of luck.
- JDMe again. I finally figured out that they said "best of luck to your case". At least, I think that's what he said. Still pisses me off but not as much as if they said "kids".
I called back again and told them that I checked my account and have no record of any money coming in. I told them that I thought it was a scam and that I was not worried since I received no money. He got even ruder and told me that the investigator would be to my home address to drag me to court. Really??? Oh...wow...I am so scared. Not so much!! I did nothing wrong so am not afraid of being dragged off. I am highly agitated that they knew all the info including the last 4 of my social. GREAT!!! Guess people are really getting desperate for money.- Caller: Law Firm repr. American Credit Services
- CluelessI just received a call on my cell phone and work number. I have no clue what is going on? This man appeared to be of Indian Accent and the background was also very noisy. He called me by my maiden name also. He told me to have my attorney call him. He referred to himself as Vince Bell. He also told me "Good Luck and "Good luck to my kids". What a jerk! I'm also reporting this. I tried to call back from the number that appeared on my cell, as well as the 714 number he gave me. Both give busy signals. Please keep us posted on any further info. Also, for those who say they have your social security number, how do you know? Did you talk with them?
- Caller: Didn't Say
- JD| 1 replyYes, I did talk to them. I called a few times to 714-333-2951 and it was busy. I kept trying and finally got through. They read me a disclaimer and then told me that there was a case against me because I took out a payday loan and never paid it back. They told me the last 4 of my social, knew my aunts name and best friends name. They knew my home address, routing number and bank account number. I think that I know where they got all this info. I was stupid enough to apply for a payday loan at least a year ago. When I saw the ridiculous terms, I declined the loan and never completed the process. I have double checked my account (they gave me the date that I supposedly got the funds) and I never got the $$$. When I told him that I thought it was a scam, he got rude and hung up on me. I think they are getting your info from online applications....for credit cards, loans etc. Guess I won't be doing that anymore.
- Clueless replies to JDThanks for responding. I was also stupid and applied for payday loans in the past. I suppose that is how they have the info. Please let us know if anyone has any trouble with their bank account. Also, I just requested my credit reports just to ease my mind. Good luck. Sorry their are such idiots praying on innocent people.
- Dave| 2 repliesI just received another call from these people threatening me saying I will be escorted to the court house tomorrow for my case to be heard in front of a judge. They have fraudulently taken about $1400.00 out of my bank account. I have spoken with my bank and they have filed a fraud report and are recouping my funds. Please let me know the best way to go about reporting these people. I want to press charges if I can but I am not sure if that is possible.
- ZYes please do not give in to these people, somehow they already had my bank account information and were trying to get me to make a payment for a payday loan I never took out. I alerted my bank immediately and they put up a fraud alert. Do not belive these people!
- Upset in NYI received a phone call today at 1:43 pm at my office from a Jason Smith. I tried calling back and could not understand the person on the other line due to a foreign accent and a lot of background noise. I asked for identification of the agency/company and they would not identify themselves. I tried calling later and spoke with a woman who said that she did not have any information on me. I thought maybe be it was a telemarketer. I looked up this number and found this site. About a month ago I received a letter in the mail stating that there was an investigation being done as my identity/personal information was taken. I thought it was someone wanting me to purchase something. Perhaps there is a relationship. Also my computer opened up to my email on its own the other day and my mother and sister told me that they received old mail from me that was sent around Christmas time. Perhaps I have a hacker. Anyways I am calling the local Sheriff in the a.m. I will also call my bank. I have had people call my house before asking for my bank account numbers etc. This is very scary to me.
- Caller: Do not know
- Moe replies to Dave| 1 replyPlease contact your local FBI office and they will take it from there. I reported it to my local FBI office and the did tell me that it is a scam. Please, whatever you do, REPORT IT and DO NOT CONFIRM ANY OF THE INFORMATION EVEN IF IT IS CORRECT. Also contact the social security administration and let your bank know what's going on. I'm about to call my local FBI office again because these fools called me again and let a message telling me that they're not playing with me this time and that I better call them at my earliest convenience or me and my family will regret it. I'll keep you posted.
