I got a recorded message call to my work cell phone number.  I'm local to the 714 area (although I'm 949).  They were trying to sell carpet cleaning, and said to "press 1 to schedule an appointment".  I just hung up.

Same here, I got a call from A carpet cleaning place on my cell phone (which i registered on the Federal Do Not Call Registry).  As soon as i knew it was a recording, I hung up, 7 seconds.  I noted the time and number.  I went to the https://www.donotcall.gov to file a complaint.  See what happens i guess.

I got a recorded message call to my work cell phone number.  I'm local to the 714 area.  They were trying to sell carpet cleaning.. I sent them a tex message that "they suck calling cell phones"  to see if it would bounce like land lines do. It did not bounce so they are using a cell or computer to call masive cell numbers in the 714 area code

I also got a call from a Carpet Cleaning agency, I pressed 1 to tell them not to call me and they hung up on me. Like JH, I filed a complaint on https://www.donotcall.gov.

They called my cell and it was a recorded message for carpet cleaning.  they called my house for awhile and i just ignored them.  now they some how got a hold of my cell phone # too.  wasted my minutes.  those bastards.  FBI need to crack down these illegal activities.

If they get enough complaints, they will have to look into it.

Got a recorded call from this carpet care place during my commute in to work.  Very annoying, for all the reasons everyone has already given.  I've reported them to the FTC and am filing the complaint with the OC DA.

Ignored the incoming call from this number. Glad that people are posting on these scam numbers.

Recived this call today. Dian's Carpet Cleanning. Hung up, registered in w/don't call list.

Yup, carpet cleaning advert on my voicemail. Just the distraction I need while trying to work. I wish they would have left the name of the company so I would know whom not to call when I need carpet cleaning. I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call registry. Pretty easy to do -- I recommend it highly.

Got an unsolicited call from this number. All of my number including cell number are registered with national DO NOT CALL database. Someone needs to "Show Up" at the business and "Talk" to them......

I received an unsolicited call on my one of my cellphones on June 18, 2008 at 13:02.  After a few seconds of simply silence, an automated message started with the speaker identifying herself as "Diane" from a carpet cleaning service (possibly "Carpet Care" or simply "Carpet Cleaners").  I hung up and noticed that the incoming 714-384-9614 number was captured by my cellphone.  This number appears to be associated with "XO" in Santa Ana, CA.  At about the same time that day another family member received the same unsolicited, automated call (also from "Diane") on her cellphone.  Both of our cellphone numbers have been registered long ago on the Do Not Call list.  I would like such callers quickly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the applicable law.  

XO appears to be involved with Internet and other communications.  Despite whether they are actively engaged in this fraudulent Carpet Cleaning activity, I believe that they are fully accountable for activities enabled by this phone number while it is associated only with XO.  

Evidently, many other people have also received such calls from this same source and specifically to their unreleased cellphone numbers.  I find it odd that both of my cellphone numbers were called by this "business" at roughly the same time on the same day.  Where did these crooks get our numbers?!  I plan to also ask AT&T (my cell carrier) to take an active role in protecting us from such telemarketers that scoff the law.  We should not have to pay for such calls, so I would hope that AT&T helps to actively pursue these criminals.  These scumbags cost us time and money and they must certainly know that they are engaging in illegal call activity.  Let's destroy these vermin ASAP!
