- Dar| 2 repliesI just got two calls from 714-395-5971. Indian guy calling from Anaheim, CA stating that i miss filed my taxes & that I own money and that I can be facing arrest. I said "oh really?? So why are you calling me instead of me getting a direct notice in the mail?" He said that they did mail it to my home and left a note on my door. That is all BS!! Some one is ALWAYS home!!! (Idiot) Anyway... i said "well, thanks for the call, but I'll contact the IRS directly to find out if I owe any thing." He said ok and hung up.
- Kel replies to Dar| 1 replySAme here! Just googled the nuber and your post came up. He left me a message about tax fraud....what a tool. Not bothering calling this idiot back.
- Adam HeeschCall from Anaheim, caller represented himself as an agent from the IRS and asked for my wife. I told I could take the message. He started to explain that there was money owed. When I asked why the IRS would be calling from Anaheim and how could I confirm that he was legit, he made a hasty exit, saying that I would be contacted by the sheriff (Really?! A county officer is going to contact me regarding a federal IRS issue?!) I wish I could have reached through the phone and grabbed this guy, and it sounded like he was in a call center, so evidently, he has a bunch of his buddies organized in this scam.
- Caller: IRS (Fraud)
- Gema ReedSame here just got a voicemail from a guy with a middle eastern accent said that I owe back taxes which I know I don't. He said that I could be facing arrest if I did not call him back. Sounded like total [***] to me I will not be calling him back.

- CarolJust got a call - went into voicemail. Claimed he was from IRS (sounded Indian) and he had info on me about tax evasion. Right. Loved his ending though, he said that if he didn't hear back from me or my attorney, then he wished me luck! These guys are a trip.
- CWG40 replies to Shelley OWhat he wants is money. He claims to be with IRS and tells you all sort of bad things that are now doing to happen to you because of some alleged deficiency in your taxes. But , he says, he can make the whole thing go away if you'll jut pay them some money by untraceable means.
Ignore and block the calls. Total scam originating in India and Pakistan. - Seattle| 2 repliesYes, I received a call from the DB yesterday with a Florida number and now today from a Anaheim number. He left a very threatening message indicating that something terrible would happen to me if I did not call him back. He discussed being arrested and worse.
- CWG40 replies to Seattle| 1 replyTotal scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan. Block and ignore. DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
