714-475-1959

Cold caller claimed to be from the IRS in Washington DC (despite a California number) and threatened to call local law enforcement arrest me. IRS does everything in writing and that's not their process (they'll send a couple of bills and then a notice of Levy to claim your property).  The caller also mentioned Dept. of Homeland Security, which is an unrelated department. Seems to be a classic IRS scam, although I didn't stay on the phone long enough to be told how to send them the money.

These people are claiming to be from the IRS and has a warrant for my arrest.  When I asked them the tax year and which lines on the tax forms, they were giving incorrect amounts and have even given a line number that does not exist on the form.  They were very rude and at one point they told me to shut up when I started asking many questions.  They called at around 6PM which is after federal office hours.  They threatened that if I will put phone down that the police and IRS will be at my door to arrest me within 5 minutes and claim my property.  I called IRS to report their number and the scam.  Didn't provide them any of my information since they cannot answer my questions on what they are calling about.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Ooops, I'm redundant.  Slim beat me to it.

Left a message saying he was officer Jason Miller and there was a warrant for my arrest being processed for my state. That I needed to return the call to that number immediately.

Officer Sean Gibson just contacted me from this number, I called him back and after some hee-hawing over his accent and arrest warrants, he said "Mr. Bjerke has a warrant for tax fraud and evasion..." I go "...reeeally" and he hung up on me. Hahaha, this is the first telephone scam that I've ever gotten to participate in(new to the landline scene) and I gotta say, it was entertaining!

Claimed my wife and I had committed some kind of tax fraud.The IRS had sent a certified letter which one of us had signed for.
claimed the govt was issuing an arrest warrant for us. Got the feeling she was going to ask for something. Just hung up. H and R block has done my taxes for ten years.

This morning we received a call from officer Kevin Gain and said he was from crime scene investigation and there was a warrant for my arrest. I should call this number 714-475-1959 so that he can help me settle this. No police department city name given. The caller had a foreign accent which did not fit his name.

Hi, please don't answer this number. We had problems with them. They took 3000 dollars from us. They said they are from IRS and we will be under arrest if we don't give them money. Please don't do the mistake we did, please!!

A guy who called himself Kevin James left a voice message on May 12.
He said basically the same thing as you guys heard and He told me to call him at 714-475-1959.
He had some accent similar to Indian people.
I didn't owe anything to IRS so I knew this was a scam.
I searched this phone number and found this website.

By the way, Other scam I experienced a few days ago was the following.
When I was at a hotel, some guy called the hotel room phone very early in the morning
and said he was calling from the front desk.
To make the story short, he asked my credit card information. Of course it was a big scam. Be careful, every one.

Got a call from "Officer" Kevin James stating that my mother was sending money to Syria without notice to the IRS. The guy had an indian/arabic accent, I thought to myself hmm this doesn't fit that name. He also gave a wrong address, but my mother has had her identity stolen. Anyway he said the police would arrest her by today and he said to write down his "Badge id" which is CI 1723 and the arrest warrant id: 7538H42. After talking to him he wanted to speak with my mother, I passed the phone over to her and he was getting irate as my mom couldn't understand a word he was saying. She asked to speak with someone who speaks spanish, but he said he can't transfer her over since she is a suspect. Ok yea that makes sense. He then asked her for her IRS Pin and she wouldn't give it to him who in turn got very angry and started shouting and said the police will arrest her and she will have to pay One million dollars. She hung up the phone and a couple hours later he kept calling (I thought the "police" was going to arrest her) but she in turn said "Dumbass we notified the police" and hasn't called since. She also called a nationwide radio center to warn others of the scam. The number he called from was 714-475-1959 this number is from Northern Orange County in Los Angeles, California. I would really much appreciate if some one from that area can make a report and see if this imposter can be tracked down. Thanks and be safe all!
