He said he was a Lawyer and said I was going to be arrested for check fraud and money laundering..  he then  said Several people said that i took money from them. He  said that when the paper work was done my social security number would be blackened and that I  would never get a job. He said that he would fax the paperwork to the court and I would be arrested in an hour. NO ONE CAME  It a fraud call.

He is a LIAR!!

1. It is illegal to call yourself a lawyer if you are not.
2. It is illegal to make threats - arrest, blacken social security, no job
3. Process servers do not call before arriving.
4. Debt is civil - not criminal

If this thief calls again, demand written paperwork mailed to you.   That is the only official way of notification.

Threatening call from alleged lawyer firm John Marsh threatening me that I would be arrested. When I asked what this was in reference to he continued to threaten the authorities would come to my home and hung up the phone.

received pre-recorded message from a woman with a latin accent saying that i would be arrested. i asked her what this was for and i will give this information to my attorney and she hung up. called back and a james answered and i again asked him what this is for and when i told him i have an attorney he wouldn't give me any information and said this would be forwarded to the d.a office i asked him what state and he wouldn't answer me and hung up!!! annoying but fake!!

I just get a call from this number to and they stay the same thing to so what I did I file a claim with the FCC and give them all. The information

I just recieved the same call described by others here as well, saying I was being sued and would be arrested at my residence or work. Glad to know I'm not the only person they've called with this hoax!!

Got the same call. I know the person who serves papers for court and they don't call you first and when you are going to get arrested that is crazy to let someone know so they can run away. Boy people have nothing else to do but play with poor people s mind s that don't know better.

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

Same number called me saying they received a legal case against me, and I would be arrested at my home or workplace. My personal favorite line was "see you in the courthouse". Hilarious.

I received a phone call at 5:44 am this morning stating "We have received a legal case against you and for that reason you will be get arrested from your physical address or your work place. If you need any further information you can reach me at 714 485 4655. See you in the court house." I Quoted this verbatim. I will be reporting this to FTC to file a complaint.  I was also told to get these numbers out there so others don't fall victim.  They call my family and friends and make them think I am going to be arrested. I am so frustrated with this.

Got the same message they would come to my work or home and be arrested I called many times finally got thru talked to a john marsh he talked real fast i said you guys called me and im supposed to get arrested, he then said whats the case #
i said i have no case # you tell me he said again that i was served and he hung up, I called back again and and said that he was on the other line and there was a beep so i left a message i said that hes all over the internet we know this is a scam and that he was going to jail that even the city that hes calling in is been located, id sure like to meet this guy face to face

I got a voicemail from this number today saying that I was going to be arrested at me resident are my work place that I needed to call them back.
I called them back and the man told me I was going to be arrested and going to go to jail for a long time. I asked why and he wouldn't tell me why. Said he was going to check it out and call me back. It's been almost 2 hours and now he won't answer my calls. Complete scam.

I just can't believe that people are so mean to do something like this , same guy john marsh, before I called him back I got a message from this woman saying the same as stated from all this testimonies,  so sad ....

I just received a voice message from a woman claiming the same court arrest blah blahhhhhh the numbers that it came from are 714-485-4655 and 714-442-2577 I'm sure the number that it was called from is a spoof number. I'm looking forward to them knocking on my door I hope they like milk and cookies lol....

I had a similar scam happen to me over a week ago. Got $1800 from me. Had me running around for 4 hours getiing moneygrams and reloadit cards. I was told to stay on the phone the whole time while I drove around everywhere cause this was being recorded. As I got home I called the police, i know people think I am crazy that I feel for this but I am not crazy, was threatened and this guy had a thing to make numbers appear on my cell that were fake, even the police station with a guy saying I better listen to this Sam Wilson or I was in deep trouble. The police took a report and evidence and I called the FL attorney generals office cause this is where he said he was from and sent me e-mails apparently with fake logos, how would I know, so it is through magic jack ViOp's they are doing this so the FL general attorney office called and had it shut off and also the ip address shut down so the computers wouldn't work. I got a call from the same latin lady, left a voice message about me being picked up at home or work and see you in the court house. Who says that. So if u get a number of 714-442-2577 OR 714-485-4655 saying this stuff it is a scam, I would hate for anyone to fall victim to this like I did. these people are tricky so you have to be too and know your facts and don't be scared. I am on disabiity due to a rare autoimmune disease, had to move home due to a domestic violence occurance and had to borrow this money from my mom who is the nicest person, would help anybody and she is a single mom, works full time and is my fulltime caregiver. I feel awful about this and just want to help others not fall victim. Even with the police reports and all my evidence I did not get any money back. F these people.

I had been getting calls from this number and the first time I answered they didn't say anything and then when they called and I didn't answer they left a voicemail talking about I have a legal case filed against me and I will be arrested at my residence or workplace and then when I called the number back it says that the number can't receive calls.
