I got a call from 714-535-7004 at 9:15pm at night who calls at that time of night ive been getting calls for over a year that are like this how can i make this stop

I had a call today from 714.535.7004.

I answered a very crackly line to a person who identified himself as Rooney Cooper. He was very vague about the company name saying "I am calling you from the technical support of Microsoft Office operating system". This is when I smelled a rat and kept him talking. He claimed that my computer is sending out a virus alert. "It is infected with the Trojan Bug Virus". When I asked "Which computer" he said - "Your home computer, the one with Windows Vista or XP". None of mine do, their are either Win7 or Mac OS. So I asked for the IP address. He went away and came back with a number which does not match my network so I hung up. He did not call back (yet).
He said I could contact him 310.591.8581

Likely scenario:
Somone's got an app on their smart phone. They enter the payphone number, and the number they want to call, and press enter, The app connects the payphone to the desired number, they both ring. The app reports the caller ID of the payphone, facilitating anonymous harassment.

Received call from 714-535-7004-caller sounded like he had a foreign accent-asked to speak with the owner.  'Pay phone' showed on caller i.d. so I hung up the phone.

Got the 714-535-7004 number today, foreign accent and all.  Last time someone called-- said i won a trip , needed to verify my credit card's expiry date.  I just hung up and expired him--jerk.  I hate people trying to steal you identity or credit score that you have worked hard at attaining.

this number just keeps calling and nobody ever says anything!!!!! I keep calling the number, and nothing!!!!!!!

They called me today.
There was no one in the other end when I answered.
I have call blocked the number now.

THIS IS A HOAX, hang up or don't answer. The fraud is the Microsoft scam. They are rude and don't give up. This is the 15th time they have called us.

Rec'd a call today but did not answer it.

Got the call again today - it is happening at least 3 times a day now.

I received a call from this number today. The guy had a strong accent and at first I thought he was from another company which had been harassing me (several calls a week). But he said he was from a Microsoft-authorized tech company and my computer had been downloading and sending out a lot of viruses which had caught Microsoft's attention. So they were here to help. I asked why I should trust you. He said their technicians are all Microsoft technicians or something like that. I said ok, please give me your company's number or Microsoft's number so that I can call back to verify. He hang up without saying anything.

Scammers. do not believe a word they say. they will use multiple scam attempts to scare you or trick you into giving them personal information. Usually the same individuals. a couple guys and a female. They are relentless and NEVER give up. Must be their small brains in use. Any SMART scammer would realize who is not falling for their pathetic scam attempt and will move on. These guys obviously are not that bright. Do not give them money, do not give them or verify information. They are nothing but pathetic thieves who need to get off their a** and get a real job.

I got the call today and I live in Ontario, Canada. Caller had an East Indian accent..said he was with Microsoft and that there was a problem with my computer. It smelled to high heaven right from the get-go so I hung up without even acknowledging the caller. Looked up the phone number and found this wonderful site. Thank you to whoever maintains this very useful site!

This is another variation on everything everyone has said, and you call back and get only a fax machine type sound.

I'm sure it's the same idiots calling from another number. I just recently had my number changed and they were calling from a different number before that. Does anyone know if anything can be done about it?

Just received a call from 714-535-7004 five minutes ago. Indian accented man. He knew my last name. I would love to know how he knew this considering I have zero memberships to anything online or offline, no credit cards, only an auto-club membership and I diligently stop all junk mail. Anyway, he said he was "calling about my windows operating system" and without dropping a beat I responded "but I own a Mac" which I do not. He said sorry and hung up. If I had known he was a scammer I would of tried to get more information from him. Sorry.

Called several times with no response on their end but could hear voices in the distance.  Very annoying!

I got a call today from this number. Caller had thick eastern accent (India, or similar). Sad my computer had a virus and wanted to turn on my computer so he could find the virus for me. Said my computer might stop working because of the virus. I said no and hung up on him. I don't like hanging up on people but it was very obvious this was a scam.  Also, if he knew so much he should have known my computer was already on.

Always shows in my caller ID as "name unavailable" they call everyday. Will not identify themselves, always have an accent, although today there was no accent and I am supposed to appear in court regarding my court case. They were not able to serve me and the sherriffs tried to serve me but they had my work hours wrong. Really, the SHERIFFS DEPT was NOT able to serve me? Really? Making sure all my phones are on the national do not call list.
