This number 714-567-4600 is from The Word and Brown Companies. They are base in California. I was constantly getting calls from these Richard Crainiums so when they woke me up today I unloaded on them. They are an Insurance Company and are soliciting people via telephone. I told them that I'm not interested and on the do not call list and then they asked me what type & kind of insurance I have. So I told them "Why don't I have my Attorney General call you and tell you about it!" so the guy switched me over to their dept to remove my # from the list.

Received a call while I was on the other line.  Asked for son who is in the autism spectrum.  Told him to get to the point because I was on the other line.  He elected to call back.
After I finished the call, I did some research.  The name of the company is Word and Brown.  They appeared to be a legitimate insurance/ broker firm.  The BBB gives them a A+ rating (for what it's worth).  There were no complaints so I called back and spoke with Matt.
It seems my son's Medicare medicine provider (Aetna) had contracted with them to offer plans.  I explained to him that Aetna should had considered their clientele.  Advised him I am on the Do Not Call list and if Aetna is trying the business relationship it would not work because this is my telephone number.  Matt was agreeable and advised he would have number removed.  We will see.  Definitely will report to DNC if they call back.  Now I intend to call Aetna and blast them for giving my son's name to a telemarketer.

Called AETNA.  Spoke with customer service rep.  Explained to her a call was received from Word and Brown.  I was told that Aetna had submitted my son's info for telemarketer contact.  Explained to her I wanted an opt out option.  She placed me on hold for a looooong time.  When she came back, she advised me to call Word and Brown to tell them not to call because Aetna would not do that.   I paraphrased to her so Word and Brown lied.  She stated yes. (It is so cute when they are naïve).  Told her that as front line she may not be aware of the company's policy.  Word and Brown is supposed to remove the number.  Confirmed her name and the company's website.  Advised her I will be submitting a letter asking for the opt out.
    Irritating.

Have received several calls from them too, don't know why.  I too am on the National Do Not Call list.  Do not know how they received my #.  I will take the advise from the man above & go ahead and answer the call & have a few 'Words' with them & ask them to place me on their do not call list.  They had better too.  Unless the policy has changed, they can be sued if they do not comply.  When I was in between my two State of WV jobs, I worked at a call center.  We did not call people, the calls came in to us--I refused to make those annoying out-bound calls.  Anyway, after working there for about a year, (about 2003) they had us read a document, then sign/date it meaning we read it & understood.  A corp had been sued for $11,000 for not removing them from their call list.  Like I said, that policy could have changed, but I do know usually once you tell a corp to remove you from their call list, they usually do.

Three strikes and you are out
They called in June and I told them I requested to be placed on the internal DNC in October.  The gentleman apologized profusely and stated he was a receptionist who would direct the call to the right place.  I blocked the number.
So, while checking the CID, guess who was there.  I am reporting them to the DNC.  Called them today.  Female confirmed the telephone number (yep, the CID works fine) and advised me they will tell AETNA Medicare to stop calling.  Advised her this was the third time and I will be filing a complaint.
    Complaint filed.
