calls with no message several times a day

Called my home 4 times yesterday and never left a message.  The caller ID says "Settlement Dept".

claims over $300 due in magazine subscription not owed. they asked for a credit card to pay at least only half. i know its a scam.

They call me 3-5 times a day. I never pick up.

They are trying to collect a debt from 11 years THAT WAS PAID! They are saying they never got anything and now, they say I owe them over $1000 but could settle for $200. I rememeber what I read on another page that said that you should request paper documentation of the debt and if they don't then you don't need to pay anything. I think it is the economy. I never received a single magazine. It was that college kid scam where you sign your life away for a t-shirt. The only info they could give me was for a website. How dare they? I screamed and yelled at the top of my lungs. Wouldn't you if you worked so hard for ten years to build up your credit and ou are finally there and some a** from 11 years ago tries to threaten it? That is my ticket to a normal life and these people want to take it away from me for themselves. (which they probably don't even need the money)How do we poor people stop this? Now they call but don't say anything. So, we just stay victimized or is there something we can do?

They star calling as early as 7:30am and don't stop til 10p,several times a day, day after day!! Never leave a message and because it's a cell phone they are calling, I'm not paying for calls I don't want.

They have called now for 5 days straight, around 10 times per day, and whenever I try to answer it automatically hangs up.  So, I finally called them, and some lady answers and only says Hello.  So, I asked who this was, and she said Shannon, but I work for some Lucas Collection Agency, do you have a missed call from us.  I said yes, and she asked for my telephone number with area code, and I gave it to her, when she then tried to inform me that I owe around $150 for some magazines.  I said no I don't.  I told her I would not pay her any money!!  She then got very nasty and said that she was going to report that to the company and they would file a refusal to pay claim against me, and I said that's fine because I'm currently filing a claim with the BBB against you!!  She then got VERY ANGRY, and said, "ooooo, the BBB", then started cursing me out, and hung up on me!!!  I'm sorry, but this is not a real company, I've looked them up and there is no listing for them, other then I know they are out of California.  Also, FYI, if they call your cell phone without your permission they are breaking a FEDERAL LAW!!!!  I'm telling you these people are bad news, and are only fishing for people to give them money!!!!  DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!

I posted a message earlier, and wanted to let everyone now they are now calling from a different number as well, it is 562-288-7163!!!  The only difference is the one is out of Norwalk California!!  BEWARE!!!!

I've received the same calls like everyone else. Once I answered to the 714 # and she talked about the mag. comp. and everything and said for 4 months I owed $500 and I knew right there it was a scam cause 4 months at $13 doesn't = $500.  They have just recently started up the last two days and I just got the 562-288-7163 # and wanted to see the the net had to say about the #'s and I'm glad I did.  Is there no way to shut them up?
