this caller would not identify themselves, only stating that "my profile" was about to change.  I really hate these bloody types of phone calls.  Clearly an attempt to gain some type of personal information.   Being  semi-retired, I am not extremely on my guard and not willing to give out any personal information which is none of anyone's business except my own.  It is also why I am in LifeLock® ---one of the few excellent companies which actually does what is says.

No, it is certainly *NOT* any sort of legitimate "Google verification system."  

Google would never "verify" your phone by calling you out of the blue.
With no prior notification.  No email notice.
And they certainly wouldn't use some sketchy, pathetic auto-bot call system.

Google won't usually call you.  They have much more reliable, multi-step methods of verifying people, businesses, addresses, phones, etc.  Think about it for a second... we're talking about Google.

And if Google ever calls you -- for real -- then you'll know it.  It will be a real person on the line... a person who will be ready and willing to verify their legitimacy via methods only available to:
(1) a person who actually works at/for Google, or
(2) someone who has hacked the servers at Google -- and if *that* was the case, they certainly wouldn't be wasting any time calling you for your personal information, would they?

Google DOES call to verify physical addresses that are submitted to correct map changes or to update records for businesses that have moved, but ONLY ones previously submitted for new, updated or corrections. I receive these calls mentioned and these calls are definitely not GOOGLE. I have received calls from Google, when I submitted mapping corrections for our neighborhood and my business location and there is definitely a difference. Big difference is Google does not use robots to make their calls.

received a call today from 714-607-6453. No message at 12:44 PM.

did not say anything when I answered.   I call back said something about business.

This caller - 714-607-6453 has called several times now.  I do not answer and they do not leave a message.  Can we say annoying??

I have been receiving calls like this about 3 time a day for about a month. I have asked them to take my number off their list several times and told them I am on the Do Not Call List. They promise they will take it off and the calls keep coming.
Their Robo message is something like this. "Hi I'm Sharon and I'm your LOCAL Google Representative. Please Press 1 to talk to a Representative." I pressed one and a male answered the phone and I asked him if he is with Google Boulder about 1 mile from me because your Robocall  message  said you are my Local Google Rep. He hung up the phone without saying another word. But the Calls Keep Coming. I am sick to death with them and I have turned the number over to the Do Not Call List......

Robo call, pressed 1, human answered, I said wrong number, person at other end said my number will be removed, yet they still keep calling. Lost count of calls after 8 or so calls recently. I've asked to be removed twice by talking to a human but does no good, they call back.

The caller claims to be Google, It is Fake, When you answer the phone it sounds like a recorded message but this person can hear what your saying, While the message was going I give them a piece of my mind, I won't repeat his reply here, They call my house 4 to 5 times a week, This number is on my caller id when get home, Today im putting a block on the number, I don't think that will solve the problem with them calling because I believe they are spoofing,

Number block doesn't work, they just use a different number.  Sharon the Google specialist has called our business from about 20 different area codes; same message.  Not Google.

This is definitely not Google.  As other posters have said, if Google truly wanted to reach out to you to verify some sort of information, would they really use some creepy bot to do so?  Would they call with zero notice?  I think not.  Also, there should be a "scam" option in the "Call Type" drop down menu.

I received a call from this Morons, they want me to verify my Google my business, I just asked her to identify her business before I could answer any question from her she hung up immediately. I received two calls from 406-640-4532 and the last one 714-607-6453 all within 2 hours. I think they are scam, they will ask you some personal question, first Google does not call robot, a real person will first introduce him or herself as from Google.

Calls several  times a week. Never leaves a vice mail. Definitely a telemarketing terrorist
