Caller ID said JOSE HERNANDEZ and I didn't recognize area code, but I figured it might be someone we knew. It wasn't. Sounds like a total scam. In Spanish, a lady tells me she's from my local post office and that she has a package for me.
She gives me a number and an extension (and a bogus 4 digit tracking code) and asks me to repeat the numbers back to her. I found her rude, so I said I'd call the post office myself. She insisted I needed to call, so I asked for a number of someone I could speak to in English. When she asked me to repeat that number, I had enough of her and said I had to go and hung up. She called back twice, but I didn't answer. This number had called 3 or 4 times in the daytime before I picked up.

209-520-1570 ext 3277 and ext 2460 in English

I just  got this call, the first time I hang up, the second time I answered and was a Spanish, a lady tells me she's from my local post office and that she has a package for me.
She gives me a number of a bogus 4 digit tracking code.  It happens that I am waiting for a important piece of mail, so  I believed it, because she gave me correct address of our post office.
I ask my husband to go the post office,and it was no mail for us.
I ask my self, to what could be the gain to this people to do this type of prank calls?

This guy only spoke Spanish and would not stop calling. Literally six to eight calls a day with hang ups on the machine. I couldn't get the point across to this guy to stop calling so I had my wife who speaks a little Spanish answer and tell him to get lost. He called back four times after she hung up on him and didn't stop untill we said we would report his number to the police. Since then ( which was only an hour ago) the calls have stopped.

Been receiving calls from this individual, every day for two weeks. They call 4 - 6 times a day. Going to report them to police as well.

I wonder also what they gained from that. Since I hung up on the lady, I didn't find out what she wanted me to do in the end, but something I found odd was that she wanted me to pronounce my last name and kept asking me to repeat the numbers back to her. When I'd repeat them in English she'd get worked up and said "en Espanol!"
