This number is from EDD. I made a mistake on my claim form and they were calling to confirm whether it was a mistake or not. The lady I spoke to was very nice.

This can't be the unemployment Office because the number is from Anaheim, CA (714 area code) and the unemployment office is in Sacramento, CA (916 area code). I've also received calls from the unemployment office before and they always leave messages with a call back number.

Yes, it is the EDD's number and it is a non-staffed number. My assumption is that the area code is used for local calling only to avoid any LD charges they may encompass when trying to contact someone as I am also located in the 714 area code. It's too bad they do not spend an extra few seconds and at least let you know what the call was regarding or if it was urgent or something..?

This is the EDD.  They didn't leave a message.  I returned the call and got a recording referring me to contact them at their 800 number.

An umemployment office calling to verify employment for someone that I've never heard of. He said I needed to call back within 48 hours..

This is an unstaffed EDD UI in Anaheim. They have no's all over state. I got calls from San Bernardino, Riverside, Anaheim, San Diego, Sacramento, Cordova, Glendale, Los Angeles etc. So the main off is in Sacramento. Try to call 7147831500. Machine will say EDD unstaffed no. I tried it.

Received a call SATURDAY morn, Dec 27 at 8:34. Woman identified herself as EDD worker. Do not remember her name, but she is not of white origin. Asked for info on last employer. Got out of bed to get it, because she said she was not at her desk until Tuesday and would wait for me to pull info out of my files. After providing the info, she then inquired about my work search forms. I advised I do have them and will send them in. I was chastised for not being timely and was told to send them in or I will have to come up with a "very good" reason as to why I have not. (MY MONEY, NOT THEIRS AND I AM BEING SCOLDED!) The conversation ended with what I thought to be a nice comment from the caller, but afterwards I felt it was otherwise! I tried to call the number back twice, only to be sent back to my phone screen saver.

714-873-1500 is the  phone # for the Unemployment staff.  I was scheduled for a phone interview with UI between 1PM-3PM but received a call early in the morning at 11:30AM.  It sounded legit because she asked me about why I said I did not look for work on one of my weeks certification.  I told her that I accepted a job offer already.  And she asked me when I will start working at the new company.  And that was all, she did not ask for anything else.  And she explained to me that I will get paid for that particular week.

I received two calls from this number. I did not answer, they did not leave a message.  I have trouble believing that this is CA EDD.  Every time they have wanted to talk to me they have sent a letter with instructions to sit my butt next to the phone for 5 hours waiting for a non-english speaking person to call and ask me stupid questions.    I'll clasify this as spam...
