Scam Fax received, says call this number

same thing here - if you call this number, there is no answer.  They are purporting to be Midwest Financial Bank & Trust.  Fella named Jim Daniels, Regional Account Manager.  Midwest Financial doesn't show up if you google it.

Work at a municipal utility. Received fax offering loan based in "previous" conversation with an individual in at our company who has been gone in excess of 2 years.  The faxed document indicates that the regional account manager is Jim Daniels, available direct at 714-822-9818.  Unline search did not turn up any info for the phone number or the company listed on the fax, which is Midwest Financial Bank & Trust.  714 is in Cypress, California -- not the Midwest -- and my utility is certainly not anywhere near the Midwest.

I've received several faxes from Midwest Financial Bank & Trust.  A guy named Jim Daniels, Regional Account Manager. They mention my D&B credit rating. I'm in bankruptcy so I know they are just BS. Also Midwest Financial doesn't  show on a google search.

We received a fax reguarding a business equipment for $100,000.00 they also mentioned my Dunn & Bradstreet credit rating. They sent personal information sheets and we almost fell for it.  Thanks to the most high GOD we didn't.

Also received fax re: $100,000 pre-approved credit line.  Generated a received journal report and the fax number has 12 digits -- 891204819238

I received the same fax with $100,000 Pre approved Credit Line.

Upon doing a "Who-is" search on the listed domain name, midwestfinancialbt.com I found addresses in two cities in Portugal and the following two phone numbers 351-21-4356534 and 351-253-099904 from admin and owner records.  Without a doubt a scam!

These losers just faxed my home number at 6:20 in the morning, trying to reach the restaurant that used to own our number five and a half years ago. That's when the restaurant went out of business. I managed to forward the call directly to my fax line. The caller ID says it is from FaxBack Sales. They are in Portland, OR, and the number on my phone is 800-329-6453. Their company is available on line with a lot of contact names and numbers. I think I'll start calling them, as it will be about 6:00 a.m. their time. Maybe they'd like a call at their home right about now.

Shannon and I have conversed via email and cleared up the situation.  I thought I might add some info from another point of view.  The 800.329.6453 is our company's sales line.

This an issue that we’ve been dealing with for over a month now.  Some company has been spoofing our number while sending out a mass fax blast.  We are not sending these faxes out, but it looks that way because whoever is doing this, took our number from our website in order to create the illusion of legitimacy.  You can read more about the practice at:

The perpetrator is faxing to EVERY single number possible.  We’ve received calls from a 911 dispatch, FEMA (during Hurricane Ike), and countless others of people who are receiving these calls to their home or cell phone.  This has been frustrating for us because we’ve been overwhelmed in dealing with this issue to the point where it’s compromising our ability to do normal business.  We are a business to business software company and a spin-off of Intel who sells a fax server, not exactly something you'd advertise with a fax blast. :)

Sadly, we can’t do anything about it because number spoofing is not yet illegal.  However, you people who are being sent these faxes are being wronged, so we are encouraging people to complain to their local phone provider.  Hopefully they can track the perpetrator and eliminate the problem for all of us.

i myself have gotten this fax, i called and spoke with Jim, he was very pleasant and easy to deal with. I just recently financed over $200k worth of equipment for my business. The vendors were very happy with their prompt payment, i would recomend them as a great finance source.
