what did these people want from you.

They called my cell and this call is from a company that a law firm hires to find ppl who are not able to be located because they have a filed civil complaint against them. They merely call anyone that has your name in the directory in reference to the person that has your name whom was charged in the civil complaint. I guess they figure that they call every person with your name and they're bound to have someone call back and actually be the person they are looking for. I do not think this should be allowed. It's kind of invading your personal time as I was trying to think for 2 hrs why I would be going to court in a state on the other side of the country. Use caution every time you're dealing with something bizarre like this because you never if it is a scam where they are trying to steal your information or if it is actually a law firm just hiring an annoying bunch of ppl to invade your personal time which they have no sympathy for.

Have received several calls regarding this number.  Got a call on cell a couple of months ago, man claimed to be with K & P Legal Services and he had been contracted to serve me with a summons and needed to know if anyone would be there between 8 and 4:30, but I needed to call a Gary Stevens (Stephens) at 714-888-3393 and "re-schedule" a delivery date for the summons.  On the same day, a woman called my office and spoke with my CEO and told him that she had been contracted to serve one of his employees with a summons.  She asked for the physical address of the company.  He obliged, and she caught him off guard by asking what type of company we were.  He told her and she said, "oh you don't want us coming in there, would you give the employee this information?".  He took the info and she said I had exactly 2 hours to call, or the summons would be served.  I called the number, several days later and got a recording and have not called back.  Yesterday the man called again and this time added I was a defendant in a lawsuit and needed to call and "re-schedule" delivery of the summons.  They called my office again earlier this month and my supervisor spoke to him.  He told her point blank why he was calling, which they know is a "no no".  She asked for a phone number to call him back and he said, "oh no, she doesn't need to talk to me, I can't tell her anything about the complaint.  She needs to talk to the person who signed off on the complaint".  That is totally ridiculous!  You are contracted to serve a summons and you can't tell the person anything about it.  I have searched online and cannot find any type of listing for a K & P Legal Services.  We have filed complaints with the FTC and the Attorney General's office.  We plan to file one with the California Attorney General, because that is where the phone number is linked to.  I have no idea what the calls are for and have not received anything at my home from either of these companies.  After a month, I would have fully expected to have received something from the Clerk of Courts, or have been served with a summons.

UPDATE:
I just received an email from the Attorney General's office.  The investigator said they could not find any business named K & P Legal Services, nor could they find any business connected to this phone number.  She believes it is a scam and said not to talk to them if they call again.  She said the AG's office will continue to investigate and if they find anything they will contact me.

Got a call at home from a man named Jacob Stearns claiming to be from a Legal Support Services company.  I was instructed to call attorney Gary Stevens at 888-825-8045 for a civil matter I am supposedly involved in, with a similar story as what is described above from K&P Legal Services.  I cannot find an attorney named Gary Stevens listed with this phone number I was given.  I am assuming it is part of the same scam described above.  You can add this information to the list.  I will not call back.

they called my house looking for my son who does not even live with me, i was told they had a court summons for him and he needed to call 888-825-8045 for details on the summons. this was after they had left a message on his phone,  i tried looking up the number and couldnt find it anywhere but it did pop up a list of telemarketers numbers when the number is entered.
