    I've been getting calls everyday from these people, they say they are from CCS and Associates, they have told me I have a lawsuit against me from wells fargo and that I need to resolve it with them asap, I got upset because this isn't the first time I have dealt with these calls, they were very threatning and had all my info to the T, my ss# address, etc. I called wells fargo to verify if there was any law suit against me or if i was negative on my accounts and didn't realize it, they confirmed everything was good and I shouldn't give these people any info of mine, they have gone so far as to call family members of mine that are out of state and tell them that I am in danger, this naturally scared my family, I'm tired of them calling, they need to stop.

This has my family worried now, I have called them back and they do not answer the phone but insist that I give them information regarding my case. I have no clue what they are referring to, and I need these people to stop calling. Someone please help

    My wife was served at her job by these people.  Is that legal?

    Same old "I got served at work" scare tactic. As there is no mention as to this debt being real, the above comment is "suspect". Served? Served what? Lunch? Did you get verification of the debt in the mail? Do you really owe it? Did the letter you receive show the name, address, & phone number of the debt collector? Did it show who the original debt was with? As with anything of this nature, you can contest it.

    No she wasn't. You probably don't even have a wife, who would want to marry a scammer who stinks of a urine-soaked boiler room after "work"?

    I got the same call today saying that I had 24 hours to call them back and it is a machine. The message said they were from a David Eaton's office? Says that I need to contact them regarding an old address before action was taken...If we need to contact them they should have something other than a machine, how about a real person to answer the phone!!

    I am getting very threatening calls from this number.  They called yesterday May 7, 2014 and the woman Rochelle/Adrianna Martinez tells I am being sued for breach of contract and wanted to make sure they have the correct info on file.  I gave them NO info. When I questioned her about the contract,  she had no further info and transferred me to a guy David who was flat out nasty.  When I inquired about the contract, he told me to shut up.  I ended the call. I just received a call again May 8, 2014 and again spoke with Rochelle who got obnoxcious and transferred me to David again, again I inquired about this contract and he laughed so I ended the call.

    Does this really work?
    I have received three calls from these people at work.  Same as everyone else a Rochelle or Adrianna is on the phone and needs to verify that it is the person they are calling for and wants to verify the last four of my social.  I of course do not do this and ask what is this regarding, she transfers me to this Bob Alexander calling for David Ethans office 714-975-7605 and again ask to verify my name and last four of my social.  I do neither and hang up on them.  She called again this morning and I told them, you tried this the other day and I am not going to verify anything until you tell me what you are calling for.  I hang up on them, she calls back again and is very rude to a associate of mine, we hung up again.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    I got a call at work from this number. The company was not identified, ( I only got the caller's name),nor would she tell me what it was regarding unless I verified the last four of my social. I asked what it was about  again and the lady on the other end  insisted she could not tell me unless I verified the last four numbers. I asked for her phone number to call back, (which I won't do) and she offered to transfer me to somebody who she claimed could let me know why they are calling. I said no, and hung up the phone.
