- c| 1 replyperson calls says they are attorney and you owe money
- Caller: mr soto
- justme replies to cDid they say for who they were calling for? My neighbor got a call with a message to give me saying it was an emergency. I don't owe any money and its strange they would call my neighbor and not me, seeing as I am very easy to find via the internet.
- Anonymous| 2 repliesreport this guy to consumer affairs, federal trade commissions and anyone else that will accept a formal complaint. He is a collector, posing as an attorney and making serious threats that are unlawful and calling family and friends. Mr. Soto is a criminal and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
He said he is an attorney for US Bank and will be prosecuting me to the fullest extent of the law for Fraud and that I would have to stand criminal trial. I talked to US Bank...this guy is a fricken LIAR!! He works for some agency that purchased charged off debt from US Bank. NOTHING MORE THAN A TYPICAL COLLECTOR - NOT A LAWYER!

MR SOTO - YOU ARE THE FRAUD BUDDY!!!! TAKE THAT TO THE BANK- Caller: Professional Legal Claims Dept. Mr. Soto
- Call type: Debt collector
- Mr. Soto replies to Anonymous| 1 replyI am fraud, but you took money from a bank and refused to repay it. Really, tell me who's the fraud
- aaronamnesia replies to Mr. SotoI'm sure that, while you have clearly lived a perfect life, you can possibly wrap your few intact brain cells around the idea that some of us have had to go into debt with full intention to pay it off only to have the unforeseeable occur. While "refusal" to repay debt is not honest and certainly is not a wise course of action, preying upon fear with underhanded and draconian trickery is down right nasty. As someone who once had debt as well as someone who now works in debt-collection, let me just say this: "You reap what you sew, [***]"...
- thatgirl| 1 replyMr Soto called my in-laws asking about me, but never called and left me any messages as to what he wanted. Some time later I received a letter in the mail threatening prosecution if I did not pay over $800 in some mysterious past-due balance. I don't owe any money, and it was only after I read this page that I figured that it was from an old US Bank account that I cancelled and still received NSF notices on (six years ago)! I called them several times to have those charges reversed and the account closed, and have heard nothing about it in six years until this letter with threats. My brother used to work for a collections agency and said 1) banks can and will not send you to collections for NSF charges, and 2) someone at the bank probable sold a bunch of charged-off accounts to this guy and he's using scare tactics to collect, which is ILLEGAL.

- Some Attorney replies to thatgirlAcutally, you are misinformed by a trusted source. ANY balance left owing that any creditor (i.e. bank, department store, etc.) they have the option of forwarding any delinquent or charged off account to a third party for collection efforts. You may ask yourself what do I know, well I have served as Corporate Counsel for many origanizations and can advise that this is common practice. Whether it was and "NSF" fee for overage charges, or simply a line of credit. A debt is a debt and can be sent at the discretion of the originating creditor. It is up to the individual be financially responsible and to act with integrity.
