I said I would called him back since I am unable to talk at my job. He gave me this number and when I called back I got a voice mail. He hs not returned my call.
- Caller: Sobieski and Adams LawFirm
- dan| 1 replyThey are not a law firm nor do they say they are. They handle arbitration. I paid a debt off to them and received my paperwork. Although I have dealt with scams before they sent me my paperwork the same day I paid off my debt.
- Caller: Sobieski and Adams
- Call type: Debt collector
- Rick S. replies to danThey state they are a legal firm, I have it on a recording!! I also never received a written verification letter from them as required in accordance with the FDCPA.
- Tiffany S.I got a call by this number and also from someone named Jason stating that his firm sent me a letter that I ignored and now a law suit is being pursued against me. I called my attorney and she couldn't find any open cases against me and advised that it might be a scam. She told me to look for myself and see if they are registered with Supreme Court as licensed attorneys and they aren't. I google them and I find this. I never received any type of certified letter. I will keep my voicemail just in case. There has got to be better ways to collect debts than this!!
- Caller: Sobieski and Adams
- L.R.| 2 repliesI received a message from this # 716-235-2375 stating that they would like to know the envolvment that we have with a person that has a case open with Jason at Sobeski & Adams firm before it goes to the county. I have called them back and left a v.m. and no return call. I have not received anything in the mail and honestly, this is very nerve racking considering we don't ever owe money out to anyone (other then our monthly debits). I googled this company and this is what I have found.
- Caller: Jason w/Sobeski & Adams
- greg| 6 repliesyou guys are a bunch of idiots. why not pay your bills? everybody excuses themselves from bills bc of these so called scam companies. well... when you all are drowning in debt and have 10 judgements maybe you will feel differently #get a clue!!!

- Alfalfa replies to gregThis isn't a discussion as to whether or not we should "Pay our bills"--
This is regarding consumers' rights when it comes to the collection of debts.
Thanks for playing. - They're a prophet in their own house replies to greg| 1 replyPut the high horse away & read the messages. People are being called by foreign criminals trying to collect on debts they don't owe. People are also being robocalled, in violation of US Law. Go to the grocery store & get a soap box for next Sunday. Otherwise contribute to the site.
- Alfalfa replies to They're a prophet in their own houseThank you!
- gregI didnt mean any harm by it. I am no stranger to scam companies. I had foreigners calling me sending fake documents to my work and threatening me and my family. Apologies if I said something wrong. I guess everyone is different or maybe different things were said to you. I guess it just went okay for my particular situation. Just was giving my input. Thanks for playing!

- GREG| 1 replyI have worked at collection agencies as well. I know consumers rights anybody with a brain should. Ill go back to saying pay your bills and maybe you wouldnt be sitting online disputing how everything is a scam! Maybe you just contribute to the mass amount of debt in our country and use the excuse of scam artists to avoid paying your bills ;)
- Anon replies to GREGGregg- If you can get off the high horse we'd like to talk to you. What about phone calls trying to collect on debts you don't owe? With your attitude I see why you worked in collections. About being online disputing things, well, you're here too, right?
- Nita| 1 replyI received a call from Jason Sobieski from the firm Sobieski & Adams. Jason said my name was tied to my ex-boyfriend's court case and it would require a possible appearance from me. What the heck? The county he mentioned is not even the county that my ex or I live in. Not legit?
- Caller: Sobieski & Adams
- Alfalfa replies to NitaThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I am a Seasoned Debt collector with 0 compliance issues ever over 8 years of practice. Even "firms" , "debt collectors" , "IRS". have rules to follow called the FDCPA - In which if you dont know what that means : Fair Debt Collection Practice Act. Everyone to who collect a debt , a) must tell you the call is recorded. B) tell you the mini miranda, C) verify who they are speaking to. D) lying is illegal in this practicing act. E) must not call before or after collection time frames set by the federal government . usually not before 8am and not after 9pm Mon through Sat. This Jason Sobiesky that called me did not follow any of these rules , i let the gentleman know who he is dealing with . he claimed to be a lawyer , but he acted like a debt collector , at one point he told me he has to speak with another person or lawyer to get me approved for a 20% discount on this debt . when in fact he used an address i used more than 10 years ago , which even public record shows my current mailing address along with my state issued lic # . he claimed the county in which i used to live in was sueing for 1900.00 plus dollars if i dont pay 250 dollars. i checked my credit report , i do not have a debt in the amount of this anywhere, nor any judgments against me . not once not ever. So before you make any comments on which you do not know about , keep your mouth shut . if it ended up happening to you , i would hope you would do your own do-diligence before you set up any arrangement's with somebody you dont know.
- Gina replies to L.R.| 1 replyMe too. Same scenario...called me stating about an involvement with a person that has a pending case. I called them back and left a v.m. I told them that I googled them and will be calling the police and my lawyer.
- SueI got a call from Jason Sobieski stating that they where going to place a judgement against me and garnish my account for a "debt" from a state that I moved away from about two years ago. I checked with the BBB ~ THIS WAS A FRAUDULENT ATTEMPT TO COLLECT on a bogus debt so be aware people!!!!!!

- KJI received a call from this number 716-235-2375 earlier this morning. I don't answer my cell if I do not recognize the number so i let it go to voice mail. The VM that was left was sort of weird, the caller left no name, just stated that it was an attempt to get in touch with someone . I'm not sure who because he also never said who the VM was for, but did say that an attempt at contact had been made through the USPS ( never received a thing) in regards to a suit that had been filed in a federal court and would now contact my lawyer because apparently they assume everyone has a lawyer on call?? Very odd and I do not plan on ever answering another call from this number.
- tiredofthiscrapNow they have switched their line up....Man referred to himself as CHIEF Connelly? sounded like he said connelly and cassing or something. New york number calling me about a supposed case in Cook county (Chicago!).
A county I have never lived in and never owed money in...
