She said her name is officer Daniel Vincent from IRS... That  I was being sued  and have. Warrant of arrest if I  am not going to pay with in 24 hours

Got an automated message today  saying the IRS is sueing me and to call this number back to reconcile.  This is a known scam.

Left a message stating they are IRS and are preparing a lawsuit against us, to return their call.

I received a message stating this is my final notice that the IRS is preparing a lawsuit against me and to return their call.

We have been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service is the reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number is 716-235-5099. I repeat 716-235-5099. Thank you.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Got the same message.  It is spoken by a computer.  Diction of message is poor as if a foreigner wrote the script.

I got the call twice today while at work. Both messages were dialed from different numbers. Messages were similar but not exact. My first thought was to laugh. Then I remembered hearing that IRS never contact by calling unless they've contacted by snail mail first.

was given a ID # HP260791 and was talking to Patrick Hunter.  Claim number BC1928  Tax audit for 2008 thru 2012. Section 101.  I could not understand what he was trying to explain to me.  I was told to call back and ask for Robin Batterson.  I called back and Robin asked do you know the reason for this call and I told her I did not.  she asked if I knew how much I owed the IRS and I said no. She told me to call back tomorrow and hung up on me

They actually say Internal Revenue "Services" not "Service". Another scam. The real IRS will not call they will send you a letter if you have a problem with them. They are not officers either! LoL They don't sue - they get court orders. LoL

Close, they actually say "Services" not "Service". Another scam - do not call the number people! Even if it was true it would be an 800 toll free number! The real USA IRS sends letters NOT computer voices on the phone. They are probably calling from Nigeria or the Bahamas and don't want you to hear their bad English. Even the caller ID can be faked easily just like an email using free programs on the internet....

i received the same exact call today, word for word. I knew it was a scam. Why they can't they get these people!

A woman left a message on my answering machine saying the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service, was trying to contact me. They are filing a suit against me.  I was to call 716-235-5099.   I did not call.  This was at 12:22 p.m. Daylight Savings Time on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

The caller ID number was 786-358-9613 M.Liebrandt, but the message on my answering machine said it was important to call 716-235-5099 IMMEDIATELY. The female caller identified herself as the IRS and this was the last chance I had to call them before the IRS filed a lawsuit against me. Initially it scared the bejeebers out of me, but then I figured it had to be a bogus call because I'm an 81 year old woman who lives on social security and a small pension and who doesn't owe anybody anything! By the time I got the message it was late evening and I tried to call the 916 number (out of sheer curiosity!) and was told by a recorded female voice (with a clipped accent) that the person I'm trying to reach isn't available right now. I have been called by M.Liebrandt MANY times but before today they never left a message. I never answer the phone if I don't recognize the caller or the number. This message got my attention!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Yet another criminal scam fake IRS call. But I have a new activity for my spare time.
I keep a list of the phone numbers these scum ask me to call.
Then call them back using *67 so they don't see my number.
When they ask for my phone number I give them one of the other scammers.
Then keep them on for a bit saying 'you are breaking up' and 'I didn't hear that' and 'how much do I owe'?.
Then disconnect.
Would love to hear when one criminal scum in India calls another !!!
If we all did this it might really annoy them.
