- won't be fooledgot phone voice from a David DeStafano at 6:30 pm claiming to be conducting a DEA investigation for what I have no idea. I called him back but his mailbox is full and could not accept any new messages- must be pretty busy guy. I guess I will call him back (assuming his voice mail is not full or on the off chance he answers) and refer him to call 877-792-2873 so he can report himself
- Caller: DEA
- i wasn't born yesterday| 2 repliesDavid Desdemono (sp?) claimed to be DEA agent regarding a confiscated pkg. from the Dominican Republic. I never ordered anything. He will make this go away for $850 and wanted to know when I would have it. He also said if I could come up with at least $700 it would be okay. He said the prosecutor would not believe me that I didn't know anything about this. I called Chicago Deas office and was told it is a scam. DON'T FALL FOR IT>
- Caller: DEA
- won't get fooled replies to i wasn't born yesterday| 1 replyspoke with "david Destfano" today could not explain why Buffalo DEA field office has no record of him or his 716-254-6456 phone number. further he did not even know DEA falls under jurisdiction of US Justice Dept. Told him I reported his phone number to local DEA field in Buffalo,NY. This angered him and he claimed he would be sending some papers in the mail. Also he talked about some lab in Dominican Republic with pills laced with cocaine and herion when I asked him when I placed an order he could not provide me with a specific date just that it was some time ago. Do not fall for anything this guy says
- MamaPolano replies to won't get fooledReceived the same call. Same guy yelling at me that he was in possesion of a package that was sent to me, and that customs is ready to charge me and send me to jail. That I was in a lot of trouble, but he was trying to help. He'd call them and tell them I didn't order anything, then he'd get back to me in 10 minutes. Ten minutes later he did call back say "he got them to agree not to press charges as long as I paid a fine of $850. How was I going to pay it and when. What he didn't know is that during that 10 minutes I called the DEA office in NYC. As soon as I said that I got a call from someone claiming to have confiscated a package addressed to me, the agent proceeded to describe exactly what this David guy said and even how he got hostile! The agent said to ignore him IT IS A SCAM - they've been operating for about 6 months and keep changing phone numbers. DON'T FALL FOR IT, NO MATTER HOW MUCH INFORMATION HE SEEMS TO HAVE. HE'S PURCHASED A LISTING OF SOME TYPE!
- Tired of the callsYep I have experienced the same thing identical as MamaPolano states. He was sending out the agents to pick me up. Then another 2 days left a message that this was his final call. Now called again from a "NEW NUMBER" 716-240-6838.
- Shocked by ScamsI just spoke with the same guy, David Destinado?? who claimed to be with the DEA and said he had a package that I purchased, confiscated by US Customs and that I could face 1 year in prison. He said he can help me and would call me back in 20 minutes. Thank goodness for the information posted from everyone with the same story.......I can't wait for him to call back!
His phone number is (716) 254-6456. Also, it's hard to understand him because he does not speak clearly or professionally which I thought was unusual for someone claiming to be in his position. - texfunRec'd a call from a person who didn't speak clearly but he was "investigating" illegal drugs and to call him. How he got my real name -don't know. My research shows he's from Buffalo, Niagara Falls area - calling on a landline phone.
- Caller: "a drug investigator"
- Helene| 1 replyI received a voicemail message from someone (something like David Desifando?) looking for someone named Jane (or Shane?) at my office this morning. Same schpiel; he's with DEA, conducting investigation, blah blah blah. I simply deleted his message. The idiot doesn't realize he called an attorney's office and that I worked for the Federal Government for three years. The DEA isn't going to call you and give you any sort of "notice" or warning over the telephone. They show up at your door with a warrant and take you to jail - period, so I'm not sure why he's using this as his cover. After reading some of the posts above, I'm just wondering if anyone has reported HIM for impersonating a DEA agent and for attempting to extort money out of people. If he calls again, I am going to use our skip tracers to locate him, find out his true identity and have him turned in. I don't need this kind of scam-crap clogging up my mailbox and, from what it appears, I also don't want to deal with someone who is clearly a crook.
- Caller: The (faux) DEA
- dont be fooled replies to HeleneI notified local DEA office in Rochester and Buffalo,NY about three weeks ago. The 716-754-6456 phone is registered as landline to a "David Destafano" some where in Rochester,NY. Unfortunately the phone carrier is YMAX (parent company of magic jack) thus said DEA David Destafano could be calling from almost anywhere. He has called me twice thus far the first time aprox one month ago then about one week ago. He forgot our first phone call and his second was even more entertaining than the first. I have called him from blocked number and he will not answer, however, he will pick up or call me back when I call from different phone numbers so I know he has caller ID on phone. Good luck with this guy he will probably call you back in a couple weeks with new story or game. I blocked the number on my phone do not have time to play.
- Johngot call from same guy saying he was DEA and wanted to know if I was somebody I don't know. had another call from somebody in south Florida with same M.O. saying there was a pakage from Domican Republic. There is a network of scam artist looking for easy money.
