Got a call saying he work for a bank called Compass Bank and that I owe money. They have file a case against me with the Santa Clara County and that I need to call to pay off want I owe. When I tried to Google this number there were no information listed, not even an address or a business. If this real or am I being scam?

Got a call from this number on home phone that doesn't have voice mail. Rang for about 5 minutes before they hung up. I didn't answer it and they can't leave messages.

It was some guy from wells fargo or a creditor. He called references and family member sayin to contact them. Theyre phone number said its check fraud dept...they can kiss my a@@..I havent wrote no fake checks and this company doesnt even have an address...pretty sure its a payday loan and use check fraud as intimadation. Good thing im filling bankruptcy

Sounds like a scam to me.  Call the SC county courthouse and have them check and see if there are any cases filed against you.

sounds like some people should pay there bills, people like you are the reason why interest rates are so high.

They call me and said the same thing compass puts in your credit. Im going to compass now to pay a payment plan on a old aaccount. I don't have money

Hmmm... just got a phone call/voicemail from a man named Steve Gavin.  He claims he has paperwork in my county for fraud against me in regards to a Compass Bank account.  (Compass Bank?  You mean the Compass Bank account that I closed with a zero balance in 2012??? ) He told me a docket number and said if I don't respond back immediately, I will forfeit my right to represent myself at a hearing which, by the way, is scheduled in 3 business days.  I didn't receive any summons to court and when I called my county clerk office with the docket number...there was no such docket number.  What the heck is going on here???

Did you ever find out if this was a scam?  Same exact thing happened to me.
