- Lori replies to Unknown| 3 repliesThey called my cell and my job yesterday and today. I talked to the process server and she is serving me between 1 and 3 this afternoon. Then I got a call from the Ohio State Police to tell me they are arresting for theft of services they were suppose to be here 30 minutes ago.
Do you know the law office name for this number? - BigA replies to Lori| 2 replieslegal outsourcing was a name mention by the previous poster. As of yet we have no verifiable information on them. They pop up here under different phone numbers. Posing as a law enforcement officer is a crime, as well as the process server con which is used to scare you into paying them their extortion money. I would immediately call the Ohio State Police and inform them that someone is posing as an officer and give them the phone number. Perhaps they can trace it. No one is arrested for civil debt and the police certainly do not call you ahead of time to tell you they are coming. That would be counter productive.

Thank you, - BigA replies to LoriYou are very welcome, and if you learn anything about them that could prove useful, please come back and post if for us.
- MeiaI have.a windows phone that has blocking private numbers. According to the national collection process that all LEGAL collection agency follows. I just downloaded call recorder on my phone to entertain myself and call this number back privately as they are calling me. Which again are not suppose to do.
Judy Cramford has called me o two separate days privately. Again according to the national collection agency data base they are not suppose to call private nor harrass and should be sending some info about debt in mail. They haven't asked for a payment via v/m left but keep giving a case# that I can't confirm with my county website and I am married and they calling about my maiden name. I havent used or obtain any debt in my maiden name for over 8 years. And lastly when going to my county website I looked up my name married and maiden and no open cases.
I will make another post after I call them and after I file complaint with my state attorney general.- Caller: Office of Legal Outsource

- Alfalfa replies to BrianYou may be a victim of identity theft, with all the recent hacking going on (Target, Home Depot, Anthem/BCBS, etc.). The criminals doing the hacking are selling this information on the internet black market. Pull your credit reports from all three credit bureaus, place fraud alerts on them and notify your bank and employer that you are being targeted by criminal extortionists.
Here is an article from the FTC which may be helpful in dealing with these scamsters:
How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:
The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/ - anonA lady named Judy has called anonymously twice leaving this call back number. She claims to be a "check fraud investigator" and gives a claim number that she says will be filed with my local County Court and names the county in which I live. She gives detailed info about my bank, name and maiden name. She also states that I have two "counts" against me... Check fraud, and theft.
I have not returned the call. - roseI've been receiving calls from them to. We verified with the original debtor and confirmed that we paid our loan in 2013. I even have a paid in full letter. This is a scam. I'm going to contact the attorney general to put a stop to this.

- unknown caller| 1 replyThe same person called my cell & work phones. Threaten a police will come to pick me up. I told her fukk off. Don't pay them. It's a scam!!!!
- Caller: legal outsource
- CrystalThis is a dirty lying collection agency. They use scare tactics to get people to pay. They told me their pay day loan client was pressing felony check fraud charges on a check for $100.00. They said i now owe over $700 but can settle for $300 right now or I'd go to jail in the next 24-48 hours. I got my father-in-law to call them, he told them he was my attorney,.they hung up as soon as he said it! He called right back saying who he was and they spoke to him. Then i had my father call, they wouldn't even give him the name of their company when he mentioned his attorney. If they were legit, they would have given my dad their company name so they could do business to fix the situation. They are fake and will do anything to scare you into paying whatever debt. FAKE. They are the ones committing fraud. It's a SCAM.
- Caller: they wont say!!!

- RJ| 1 replyI received a call from 1-716-332-7584 this person left a voicemail stating I had an outstanding debt with Check n' Go. He provided my birth date and the last four of my SSI number. He said I needed to return the call or he would be taking legal action with the State of Idaho.
His exact words were "Summons for the state of Idaho for theft of services-check fraud. You can contact the party directly to clear this up" and left the number above.
That same day about 10 minutes after I received this call my mother received a call. He told my mother his name was Officer Biggs with the Idaho State Police Department and that he was looking for me. He went on to say that I had a warrant out for my arrest and that it would be embarrassing if he had to pick me up at work. He gave my mother and name and number (number listed above) and told her I could resolve this by contacting that number.
I called the warrants department in Idaho. I do not have a warrant out for my arrest. Also I did take a loan from Check and Go several years ago. To my knowledge this was included in my bankruptcy. Regardless, this company is threatening and falsely representing itself.
When you call the number above they refuse to provide any information about the so called officer or "the account" as a matter of fact, when I asked to have the phone number to Officer Biggs the women said, "that's not how it works, good luck" and hung up on me.- Call type: Debt collector
- Alfalfa replies to RJLet them know the next time they call you are recording their call and intend to have them prosecuted for (among other things): attempted extortion, wire fraud and impersonating a law enforcement officer.
That's how that works. - anonymous replies to roncalled me today and was beyond rude threats about kicking my door in police snatching out of my car arresting while in the line grocery shopping
Name was Don Nelson with a third party legal outsource company...i filed police report! - Teresa NA lady named Judy called from from this number saying I owe money for fraudulent charges & would be jailed if not paid to them immediately. I spoke to my local olive department over this issue & they also agree they are scammers/fraudulent!!
- missyhas anyone really had anyone show up at their door through this company? they have threatened me with this too. to be honest ia very very scared.
- Caller: apex or nationwide carrier
- not mason"Investigator morgan" is now calling via private number lol stating he is, as a courtesy, providing the number of the petitioning party. Phone provided is 716-332-7584.
ANY collection agency will have access to the last 4 of your social. The police will NEVER come to arrest you (unless you have warrants. A processor server will definitely NOT let you know when they're" coming.
Any LEGITIMATE collection agency will be willing to mail you paperwork if you request it.
I have no doubt that the caller is from shady collection agency, calling about some old debt that should have expired by now, purchased for pennies on the dollar. The most recent call I received was for my maiden name, which I haven't used for nearly 7 years.
Anyway, my .02 on this [***] 😉- Call type: Debt collector
