- Lin| 3 repliesThis is a debt collection company. The one that called me, was for a payday loan from a Cash-net USA. If they are calling, chances are you owe someone money and they are attempting to collect the debt. To be fair to them, once i spoke to the gentleman, they were more than willing to work with me to resolve the issue. Yes they may not go about it right, they do call your references and yourself and say you are a person of interest, well you are, if you owe someone money, they can go to court and get a lien.. so you are a person of interest.
They claim you defrauded the bank because unlike actual pay day lenders you did not write a check, you just authorized a bank to bank transfer. To defraud there has to be proven intent first..... they would have to be able to prove to a state attorney that you never had ANY intention of paying the money back when you took it.. or say.. 20 mintues after the money was deposited by them, you closed your account etc.
However, be aware, they can sue you civilly, and it can possibly go on your Credit Report (it depends on the lender) So its up to you how to handle the situation, but you will not go to jail.- Caller: Prime Credit Solutions

- Shane replies to Lin| 2 repliesWell duh, Debt is a civil liability not criminal. You have made some misrepresentations; they can TRY and sue you. Take 10 minutes and look on this board at the SCAMS. Yes scams, 99.9% of these calls are from India from old debts or debts that have been paid, bankruptcy or flat out false etc... There is also a SOL on debts (different for each state) and I would be willing to say 100% of these debts are well beyond the SOL. You said "Yes they may not go about it right" there is this little thing called Fair Credit Reporting Act, which these scammer have zero knowledge of, why? Because they are SCAMMERS!! A debtor is never in no way aloud to call you foul names, threaten you, give personal information of yours to other people they contact or misrepresent a debt.
So I would say yes BE VERY AWARE, of your right and to never ever give these scammers your personal or banking information. If they refuse to provide written validation in writing on official letterhead mailed through the USPS NOT e-mailed then they are SCAMMERS. - MIssyI have been receiving calls from this number and I have no clue what it is about. He is IMPERSONATING a law enforcement officer!

- 'Allen'| 3 repliesLet me give you the low down on these people..These are collection companies that often pose as 'Firms' (to make it sound like they are a law firm even though 95% of the time they are not) attempting to collect on outstanding payday loans, They will use numerous scare tactics to entice you to pay up. How do I know this you ask? I shamefully use to work for one of these companies for a brief time so I know all the tricks and ploys they use. Also, they use aliases instead of their real names (theyre all lame common names that they use too).
They attempt to scare you by saying things like: "we have pending court action against you", "we're trying to issue a summons on you", or "you have a pending court date". The real bad companies will say "there's a warrant out for you", etc.etc...ITS ALL LIES to get you to pay up out of fear!
Next time they say something like that you need to call there bluff by asking in what county and the time is the 'court date' that you supposedly have, things like that..Once they realize you're smarter than they think they'll start stammering and try to change the subject or get irritated and lot of time they'll just get sarcastic and hang up..I think its funny to mess with them like that!
FYI, it helps to study up on FDCPA laws..let them know youre familiar with it and that they need to watch what they say.
Reply back on here with your experiences with these companies and i'll give you more info on these clowns.- Call type: Debt collector
- RodLeft message with wife trying to sound all government and official. Said a "complaint had been filed against me." When I called back I got a generic message that doesn't say who they are or why they are calling. I am retired with no outstanding debts to speak of. A month or two ago I received a medical bill for someone I had never heard of with the same last name. I told them I was in the phone book & anyone could get my name & address. If that is what this is about they will be on the wrong end of a law suite. I am contacting the Minnesota Attorney General and filing a complaint either way. Thank you for letting me vent.
- Caller: Unknown, bill collector or crook?
- K-Train replies to Shane| 1 replyNot sure if you are in California but here in our state, a debt collector cannot attach interest in a collection procedure by any means. These guys are trying to add on $300.00 to my payday loan. I now got them on grounds of harrassment and intimidation due to the fact that they threatened me with jail for defrauding them via check. (which is a crock of B.S) They used a name of "Debt Solutions" when they called me. Couldn't find the company on Google. Maybe it was because I made them aware that what they were doing was illegal and I would take legal action. Since I know how to file the correct papers in Calfornia Superior Court, I will be filing a suit against them and represent myself on this matter. Good luck in pursuing your situation. (-:
- Hillary whiteThey called and left me a message at work, asking for me with my husband's surname, which I have never used. They called me a "person of interest." They did not say what it was regarding or their name. When I call back the number they left or the number that showed up on caller ID, no one picks up, I just get a voice mail recording by a woman, where she does not identify her name or the calling entity's name, but when I wait to leave a message I learn they are called "Prime Credit Solutions" but their mailbox is full.

- S. G.Someone named Ericka, Erica, Erika...however it is spelled left a message on my work voicemail, never stating what company she was from. She stated I had until the end of the day to return the call in reference to 5 digit reference number she left or she would proceed with paper work regarding this matter.
I am so tired of these scam phone calls and if they continue I will be filing charges against this phone number.- Caller: Erica from who knows where
- Mrs. Carter replies to K-TrainA gentleman named "Victor White" called me yesterday from 716-254-6645 and said that I had a pending criminal case in the county I lived in and gave me a case number. Little did he know that I am the daughter of a Sheriff's Deputy and have made quite a few friends in the legal system. I had one check this case number against all pending cases in Washington State and nada. They checked under my maiden name, which is what this gentleman if you call him that left the message for, which is not correct as I have been married for over 5 years and there is nothing in the system except a restraining order I had to file in 1996 against an old boyfriend.
This morning at 7:25 am, I got another phone call and message which now said they were going to file paperwork if I didn't call. Of course now they are trying to adjudicate a claim. They are using everything in the book to try to scare you into returning the call. Note the time, they are calling from New York so it was 10:25 there but it is illegal for them to call before 8am....and it was in Washington. So I called back and a woman answered and asked if they had called the number I was calling from. I said yes but the message got cut off. I figured it was something important considering it was so early here on the west coast. She went into a panic. Someone must have gotten my voicemail and realized that i was the wrong person and purged it so no one else would call and bother me. She knew that they had broken the law. - Mrs. Carter replies to 'Allen'A gentleman named "Victor White" called me yesterday from 716-254-6645 and said that I had a pending criminal case in the county I lived in and gave me a case number. Tried call the number back as it appeared on my phone: 716-768-5530 (voice mail that stated IF YOU ARE A TELEMARKET HANG UP & YOU HAVE REACHED A NUMBER THAT'S NOT IN SERVICE.
Tried the # that was left: 716-768-5527 (no answer). What the caller doesn't know is that I word in law enforcement & I will get to the bottom of this. It seems as though any & everybody can get your number unknowing to you. The ones that obey the law are always being bugged (for sun up to sun down), while all others get away with so much. - KarlaI was called by a man who claimed to work at PCS Services. He said they were a law firm and was asking me to verify my name. He rattled off my social security number and asked me to confirm it, I refused. He hung up on me. I called them back and a girl answered with the last name Walker. She too wanted me to verify a lot of information. I refused and asked to speak with a supervisor. When the supervisor got on the phone she claimed that I was under investigation for check fraud from a payday loan company from 2008 and they were the middle men between the payday loan company and the attorneys. She said she didn’t care if I wouldn’t verify my social security number because she had it right in front of her and she knew it was me. She had all of my previous addresses, my husband’s name as well as my ex husband’s name. She was pleasant at first but when I told her I couldn’t pay the full amount in the order of $800.00, she became very demanding. She stated that the payment arrangement that I was trying to make of $75.00 a month was "a slap in the face" for the payday loan company and according to her I walked into a payday loan company and took money that I had no intentions of paying back and after 5 years I need to own up to my contract and pay the money back. She told me I had two options. She said either I could get up and go get my checkbook and give them money or she would walk right in to the attorneys office and have them sign off on it and they would take me to court. She then hung up on me. I was afraid so I gathered the money and tried to call them back with payment, but they would never answer. I then did some research and found out this was a scam. I reported it to and filed a claim against them with the Colorado Attorney General’s office. Apparently they are a collection agency that is practicing without a license.

- Derek.Received a call from 716 768 5527 from Gloria. She stated that I needed to call her immediately and she called an employer I worked for 5 years ago (instead of my current employer). When I called back, I was transferred to a man who mumbled who knew the last 4 digits of my social and asked if I still banked at bank midwest. I closed my account there in 2010. I do have an unpaid payday loan and he knew the address of that place so I don't know what to think. They refuse to send me a letter stating all this because they "need the counties permission. I'm calling the loan place directly now
