- HAL 9000 v. 2.0"American Financial Services" telemarketer. We're on both the state and national Do Not Call lists, which means this call most likely originated offshore and used a spoofed caller I.D.

- nobbyHe called asking for my husband by name. I asked him what it was in reference to and what was his name and the company he was calling for. He told me his name was Simon Foster (took him a bit) and he worked for american financial credit services and they were doing a survey in my area for people with over ten thousand dollars in credit card debt. I told him we didn't have any credit card debt and he sounded surprised. He obviously had calling lists for people who live in high end areas. I was polite and asked him to take us off his calling list. He said he would, let's see if he does. This is a new one--the way they used to do it was by saying they were calling about my credit card. He said Visa, I said which one. He couldn't answer that one and hung up.

- llw1222| 1 replyI receive a phone call once or twice a day from this number. My caller ID shows it to be Pinnacle which is a home security company. The caller is wanting me to combine my credit cards to pay them off. I have told them I am not interested and to remove me from their call list. My number is registered with DO NOT CALL. The person has a foreign accent and is hard to understand. when I ask to be removed from the call list, I get abruptly hung up on... Until the next time they call and the same happens. Very irritating.

- ClayThis is definitely a scam call because they called me a few minutes ago and they even got my name wrong. They have called before and the guy that just called me now hung up when I said your the same guy I talked to before because the guy I talked to before said credit report like credit repot with making the "r" sound. So I knew it was the same guy and a scam.

- PBLThe "gentleman" from "American Financial Services" with the foreign accent called today with the "free marketing call." He said he had my credit card information in front of him. I asked how he got it and he said "our marketing department." I asked who gave him permission to access any of my information and he said they didn't have that much. I asked who gave him permission to access my credit information and he went back on script with "this is a free marketing call...." When I asked if American Financial Services is licensed in North Carolina, he said "we have locations all over" and I asked for their license number to transact business in NC. He said the corporate supervisor could provide me with all of the information and numbers, so I asked for the corporate address and phone number. He hung up. If you call the 718-450-9212 number back, your only option is to press 1 to be removed from their marketing list. If he calls again, I'm prepared to play along with the call and get more information - cost to the consumer, terms, etc.

- Gaylene| 1 replyI just got this call in California, foreign guy, told me he was from American Financial Services and could see I was having a hard time with my credit score! Really? I have never had a credit card in my life! Cash is the best way to do anything...... When I asked how he got my cell # and what his name was he hung-up! I'm blocking the number and yes in you call it back you can only push 1 for no more calls! I hope everyone turns them in to BBB!

- samantha replies to GayleneSame thing happened to me starting in October when I had just lost my job. She had an accent saying that my credit report had like 3 negative things on it making it on the low side. And I told her I lost my job and she said well its gonna be about 3000 to begin clearing it up and she's sure I can make some sort of payment to apply. I told her I LOST MY JOB AND I HAVE 2 KIDS NO! And hung up. You know you get a free credit report each year so yesterday she called me again saying my credit was still bad and I told her I'm in a school zone can she call me later. Well I called my credit bureau and they told me I have excellent credit and no negative charges against it. These phone calls are complete bs. Give them no info.
- RDTheir phone calls always wake me up when I'm taking a nap. Pains in the ass! Thanks to "PBL", I called the number and pressed 1 to be removed from their marketing list. No idea where they got my number. I have also been called from the same outfit with 212-660-9874 and 917-391-0668. All three numbers show New York on caller Id which I no longer answer. Should be punishable by law
- Caller: New York
- JayThey called me on my personal cell phone and no answer and hung up 5 seconds later. They probably know that I know it's a "scam" call. Don't ever give any personal info over the phone. That is the best advice I can give to everyone.
