Heard kids yelling and TV in the background. Caller asked for my spouse like he was her best friend. What happened to the "Do not call list" I am on it yet I still get fraud calls.

are the names registered to that address acording to the county assor's office in New York.  So now you have the name address and telephone number for these jerks. So please have fun calling them all hours of the night and and making they miserable like they did to us.

Hi, all.  I am very glad to see posts in reference to these bothersome & irritating calls.  In the past two
days, we have recieved approximately a dozen calls.  They are coming from both this number, 718-924-2796 from New York and the other being: 404-682-1631 from Atlanta, Georgia.
The original calls began yesterday, August 25th from Atlanta. They called repeatedly and after the third attempt at ignoring the call, my husband finally answered & advised the caller to forget our number and are not interesting in anything they have to offer.  Wow, huge surprise that they called an additional four times after that. The part that really made me angry was their audacity at calling after 9:00pm EST.
Today, beginning around noon, calls began from NYC: 404-682-1631 with the same bull story.  After ignoring the calls (which are sent to my cell phone-that does not thrill me, either, with the plan we currently have.) I finally answered the phone to advise them to cease and desist anymore unwanted calls.  The man did not introduce himself and asked me for my husband.  I told him that I was his wife. I then began to tell him to remove our number, but he had the boldness (not the b-word I want to use) to hang up on me in mid-sentence!  But with both calls, they made an attempt to sound like one of his best friends. ie:  "Hey! How are ya? Is Tim around?"

Although he didn't advise me of what company he was in cahoots with, the individual yesterday introduced himself with Direct Merchants.  When we called both numbers back, a computer  gives you two options. #1 to connect with someone to speak with and #2 to hang up.  My question is: Why in the heck do you need to press 2 to hang up?  Can't you just, um, hang up?  Also, I had a friend in the late 90s and early 2000s, she had some financial issues and the only credit card she could get was from Direct Merchants.  It was one of the worst things she got herself into & had to rely on friends and family to get her out of it.  She was paying somewhere around 40% interest, had so many hidden fees, the ability to raise the interest rate, and any other credit card horror you can imagine. If you ever get bored or irritated about these guys, take a gander at Direct Merchants' record after looking it up in your favorite search bar.  There are many horror stories, no doubt.  

IF this is the same Visa or MC, just please heed my advise and stay away from them.  I know life these days requires a credit card,,,any car rental, airline, hotel, etc.  Just do yourself and your family a favor by keeping away from this company...if you have one now, please try and figure out a way to pay it off and cut it in a million pieces!

I, too, want to say thanks to everyone who posts on sites like these...word of "mouth" like this may save someone from these rip-off artists & professional cons.

One more thing, though, despite it being none of my business..."Pleaseleavemealone" poster, I want you to know that I understand life can sometimes hand you a bunch of lemons, but you're letting these horrible people get into your head WAY TOO MUCH.  If it's still happening, contact your local police department/sheriff's office and phone company to file a formal complaints. In fact they are required to investigate the claims and if valid, appropriate action WILL BE TAKEN. In the interim, attempt to document each and every call you have recieved, as in what day, time, length of call, if possible.  This will assist law enforcement in the investigation.   Life is too short for your being so upset...take control because you really do have the power to end this harassment. You are not the only one. Take advantage of looking up what other victims have done & how it has affected their lives as well.  I am quite sure you will find others desperate for anwers and perhaps it may even help the stress you are suffering from. However, if you find your emotions are escalating, please seek professional help. It is nothing to be ashamed of and may give you peace. Take care of yourself.

I recieve calls from this number like 20 times a day, i don't know how they got my unlisted number but it pisses me off. I have my number unlisted for this reason. And then they started calling on my cell phone. And no one ever answers when i pick up so i just let it ring or hang up and then they call right back. And the no call list only lasts for a certain amount of time. I tried it and after a year or less started getting scam calls, and telemarketing.

This idiot or group of idots.  They call multiple times a day and do not answer.  When you call the number back, it sayas "Hi, this is David."  Press 1 to hear the sales pitch, press 2 to disconnect.  They also call from 312 416-0121.

I too was getting calls from this idiot named "David" I had this number blocked on my cell phone, but they just keep calling from another area code. So far, it's been (718), (916), and (312). I guess a good use for a Smith & Wesson!

unwanted calls day and night

Received a call from this number 718-924-2796 about working from home. I been receiving these calls about 20 times a day. I also received a call from the same number from someone named Andrea regarding a visa. Told her I was not interested and hung up the phone. Tired of these scams. What can be done?

I want these calls to STOP. You must call 20 times a day. I am retired and I do you need any tele-maketer.

I am receiving 6+ calls a day.  No one there when I answer.
