- tdur| 2 repliesDO not answer or return this call.. They are from Madison's Who's Who and they are a scam company. They will tell you that you have been nominated to be a part of this organization, yet they can not tell you who nominated you. They tell you all these great things about their company and asks you questions about your educational background/business affiliations. They then ask you to pay a fee of $450 to join for four years. They tell you that they will send an invoice and all they need is the expiration date of your credit card. I gave them this information and they ask for my credit card number. I refused to give them this information and hung up. They call my house 4-5 times back to back. I looked on the internet and typed in Madison's Who's Who scam and found that it was a scam. When they called again, I answered the phone and informed them that I was not interested because I have discovered that it was a scam. His reply was "scam, huh??" And then he hung up. I haven't heard from him since.

- patricia| 3 repliesCancelled my membership in less than 24hrs. due to the above negative informational reports. Spoke to Andrew Jones, a financial representative, saying he would cancel the complete price of $59.00 effective immediately. They better take care of this & never call me or email me again!

- Roger G.| 11 repliesWow. I'm a Madison member. It's not a scam folks. In fact, I've gotten quite a bit of business. They HAND you their complete database. All you have to do is plug in a username and password and search their members in a variety of ways. If you don't want to work the list and be strategic, don't bother signing up. And when I called and spoke with Bill in the networking department, he worked with me and sent me a customized list of their members based on their physical locations and their executive titles. With my membership, I also got a vacation package -- 4 roundtrip tickets to various destinations. You can give them to anyone you want -- I'm donating a pair to my favorite charity. They're raffling them off, I get to look like a star, and I still get to use a pair for myself. Scam? I'm thinking some people just don't want to invest and don't want to work it. That's a shame. It's a great resource for me. And I've talked to the owner personally. I mean, I invested $289 for 2 years and I have more than 25 clients from their membership. Just work the list. It's an easy stream of income.

- DanIt is a rip off trust me. They charged my credit card continuously without my authorization. Last week they called me again and I told the guy right off that they had no right to charge my card and to please remove me from the call list. the guy told me in all his years of working there they had never charged anything without permission. I polity asked him to erase my card info and please stop calling me. He then said I'll be sending you the book and charging you the full price he then hung up on me. I called my credit card company right away to tell them what had happened and they said if they tried to place any charges to my card they would have to cancel the card. Sure enough 2 days later my card was canceled.. BEWARE of these guys unless you want throw you hard earned cash away.

- Eri| 2 repliesIt's awful. I've received a dozen phone calls from men and women working for Madison within the last 24 hours. I told them, please don't call me again and please remove me from their list. They kept on calling me. What should I do to stop them from calling me?

- john replies to EriI worked there. They will run your card without permission and recycle the same leads over and over again. The only thing you can do is cancel your card if you fell for the scam and change your number.
Oh yeah, anything positive rebutals that were posted are posted by the owners of the company. - IzziAndrew Jones is Andrew Minuta, and his brother is Scott Minuta whos is a 50% owner of Madison Who's Who. The other owner is Matt Schwartz 50%. Hey why dont you all harass Andrew like he does to you his number is

- mike jacobson replies to irishgirl| 16 repliesthe company is valid. i worked there for about 6 months and all they do is positive networking services for members. all the negative blogs are probably ex employess who never made money due to laziness and lack of work ethic. the publications they come out with are filled with sophisticated and absolute professionals.
- Cluein| 1 replyNo phone call details just facts.
Fact1: Yes they are a scam
Fact2: That guy named Micheal works there I know him. Full discloser, they owe me money, (Paycheck)
Fact3: I worked very hard to get sales thinking that they were legit, when I wasn't getting commissions they fired me.
Fact4: Decided to check them out when my check didn't come. Besides their fancy website I found a whole lot of website and blogs complaining about them.
Fact5: And this is for Micheal to answer his sly slam against employees,"Micheal some are just smarter than others and were hip to your lies from the get go but need the money to pay rent. Your just trying to defeat bad Web Press by pretending to be a Madison Member. Keep on using your employees like you use your so-called clients and you'll have more than just web complaints you'll end up in jail.
So people now you know, so go call you neighbors and call your friends to warn them about these liers. Or just continue to complain on this site as if this is doing something. Your call. [Pun Intended]- Caller: Madison Who's Who

- John replies to patriciaPatricia:
I promise you they will continue to call you over and over again. Everyone's info is kept forever. They think maybe another sales rep can sell you or you will forget you cancelled. In addition, they will call asking to sell you books, CD's, VIP's, etc. Your Credit Card info will be kept forever. I worked there for 3 months and they recycle leeds over and over and they will ruin credit cards when the office is "slow" or not making enough money. They count on the fact you may never notice the charge and will fight you on the dispute. - Jacob replies to tdurThe fact that they never give up is true. They just keep calling over and over and over again. Every once in a while they leave a voicemail message and it is a new salesperson each time. They do not take "no" for an answer. I have had a bad experience with their customer service reps, who are very pushy and just want your credit card number. The worst part is that even though you said "no," they just keep coming up with lower and lower prices that "they are not supposed to give" just so you sign up.
- okeydoke replies to mike jacobson| 1 replySure, the company exists, but that's not the same as being valid! They claim to facilitate networking, but it's painfully obvious from the 4 (!) calls I've had from different MWW salespeople that A) they don't know the profession of the person to whom they're talking, B) they have received no referral whatsoever, even though they claim they have, C) there are no actual criteria for membership or for inclusion in this *prestigious publication*, and D) they refuse to stop calling after being told not to call. There can't be much value to a "network" whose only common denominator is receiving indiscriminately placed telephone calls or e-mails.
BTW, kudos for admitting up front that you used to work for the company. However, I'm not an ex-employee, and most of the hundreds of other negative comments on MWW aren't from ex-employees either. Disgruntled ex-MWW employees have their own issues with the organization, and they tend to identify themselves pretty straightforwardly! - ex employee| 1 replyMadison Who's Who never had nor ever will have the intention of networking people. They will send solicitations to anyone, and if you respond they will call you non stop until you buy. Then they will run your CC without your approval down the road.
They think they are slick by calling themselves Madison Publishing International or simply Who's Who. Neither is the case they are a telemarketing sales company owned by 2 convicted felons named: Scott Minuta & Mathew Schwartz.
I WORKED THERE I CAN CONFIRM THIS! THEY ARE IN CONSTANT LEGAL TROUBLE. - okeydoke replies to Roger G.| 3 repliesNo disrespect, but I'm tempted to call bull[ ] on this one, and here's why:
1. If all it took was membership and "working the list," the positive reviews would outnumber the complaints 500 to one, not the other way around. Plus, this sort of claim would seem more trustworthy if you mentioned exactly what business you're in.
2. You spoke with Bill in the networking department? That is intriguing considering the scads of entries claiming that members can never reach anyone, that sales reps don't use their real names, and that the company's phone extensions are often inaccurate or dead.
3. Vacation package? Now, that's really cool. I wonder why none of the Madison salespeople who have called me ever mentioned that incentive. Come to think of it, nobody among these blogs -- including former employees -- mentions it. Except you.
4. Whoa -- you've talked to "the owner" personally? That's outstanding...except the company apparently has *two* owners, at least one of whom operates under a pseudonym. Whom exactly did you contact?
Hey, if I'm off base here, I apologize ahead of time, Roger G. Or whatever your name is. - stacie replies to mike jacobson| 2 repliesi worked for madison whos who and they are a rip off. they are even ripping off there employees. they still owe me money for working for them and they never sent my check. i may have to take them to court. i watched them lie cheat and steal from there customers. anyone who signs up with this company is waisting there time. they are going to keep calling you trying to sell you more stuff every two months.
- yeah right replies to Roger G.| 4 repliesthis comment musto of come from someone who works at madison whos who you people are liers and im gona report you.
- LovinMRAZ replies to yeah right| 3 repliesYes, they are a scam! I have been charged more than $800, some unauthorized and no book all year long! Please AVOID THEM!!! I just got off the phone with my CC company and I will call them tomorrow. I will be contacting the Federal Trade Commission if they do not refund me everything!
- ANONYMOUSAT FIRST I THOUGHT THIS COMPANY WAS LEGIT. I WAS IN DESPERATE NEED OF A JOB AND THEY CALLED ME BACK FOR AN INTERVIEW. I WAS TOLD IT WAS FOR A HUMAN RESOURCE POSITION, ADMINISTRATIVE WORK. AFTER I GOT TO TRAINING IS WHEN I REALIZED I WAS BASICALLY GOING TO BE A TELEMARKETER BUT I NEEDED THE MONEY SO I DIDNT CARE. THEY DONT PAY YOU FOR THE 3 DAY TRAINING AND THEY START EVERYONE WHO STAYS THE 3 DAYS THAT WEDNESDAY. THERE IS A TRAINING CLASS EVERY SINGLE WEEK. ONCE YOU GET ON THE PHONES ABOUT 99% OF THE NEW EMPLOYEES WILL MAKE SALES BUT AFTER A WEEK OR 2 IT GETS MORE FRUSTRATING FOR NEW EMPLOYEES ND CUSTOMERS. WE HARASS THESE PEOPLE DAY IN AND DAY OUT BUT THATS WHAT WE GET PAID FOR SO WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE MAKING OUR CALLS UNTIL WE SPEAK TO SOMEONE. AND YES EVEN AFTER PEOPLE CURSE US OUT ND SAY IVE BEEN CALLED X AMOUNT OF TIMES AND I ASKED NOT TO BE CALLED SOMEONE IN THE OFFICE WILL CALL THEM BACK. SCOTT AND GEORGE THE FLOOR MANAGER (WHICH I DONT EVEN KNOW HIS REAL NAME HE GOES BY BISNOFF AND STEVE NELSON) PRESSURE EVERYONE TO MAKING THESE SALES CONVINCE PEOPLE TO BUY THEY SAY ITS YOU YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE YOU HAVE TO HAVE CONVERSATION YOU HAVE TO STROKE THESE PEOPLE MAKE THEM FEEL IMPORTANT BUT THEY JUST WANT US TO SOFTEN PEOPLE UP SO WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO MONEY AND CREDIT CARD INFO YOU ARE SO COMFORTABLE WIT THIS SALES REP YOUR WILLING TO GIVE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY #. NOW THEY WANT US TO ASK FOR CVV # ON CREDIT CARDS BECAUSE TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT GETTING CHARGED FOR NUMEROUS THINGS WITHOUT PERMISSION. BUT ITS NOT THE CUSTOMERS ITS THE COMPANY. ITS SCOTT AND MATT AND DIANE IN HUMAN RESOURCE ITS ANTHONY WHO CHARGES CREDIT CARDS AS WELL. THEY FIRE PEOPLE LEFT AND RIGHT IF THEY ARENT MAKING SALES NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE BAD SALES REPS BUT BECAUSE THEY AS INDIVIDUALS ARENT MAKING MONEY. THEY ARE SO MONEY HUNGRY ITS DISGUSTING. NOW ABOUT THE COMPANY AND IT BEING A SCAM...IT MOST DEFINATELY IS. COMING FROM THE INSIDE ITS THE MOST UNEASY WORK ENVIRONMENT TO BE IN BECAUSE EVERYONE WHETHER THEY ADMIT IT OR NOT KNOWS THAT 90% CUSTOMERS DO NOT GET WHAT THEY PAID FOR GET OVERCHARGER OR CHARGED MORE THAN ONCE WITHOUT PERMISSION. SOME CUSTOMERS DO GET WHAT THEY PAY FOR AND ARE SATISFIED BUT LIKE SOMEONE UP THERE SAID ITS 500 TO 1. MORE THAN HALF OF THE EMPLOYEES CHANGE THEIR NAME ON THE PHONE NOT BECAUSE THEIR NAME IS TOO HARD TO PRONOUNCE OR ITS GHETTO BUT JUST BECAUSE EVENTUALLY YOU REALIZE WHAT THE COMPANY IS ALL ABOUT AND YOU DONT WANT NO PART IN IT WHEN IT GOES DOWN. AND TRUST ME 90% OF THE EMPLOYEES KNOW THE COMPANY IS GOING DOWN BUT THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF IT UNTIL ANOTHER JOB COMES AROUND. AND AS FOR THE OWNERS AND MANAGERS AND HEAD PEOPLE IN HUMAN RESOURCE THEY KNOW THE COMPANY IS GOING DOWN BECUSE IVE HEARD A NUMBER OF TIMES THEM WHISPERING ABOUT THINGS OR MAKING COMMENTS ABOUT "WHEN THE COMPANY GOES DOWN YOU WONT FIND ME". I NEVER EVEN KNEW SCOTT AND MATTS LAST NAMES UNTIL I READ THIS AND THE FLOOR MANAGER "GEORGE" HAS SO MANY NAMES IM UNSURE OF HIS REAL NAME. THEY WANT TO BE UNKNOWN AND ITS A TERRIBLE THING WHAT THIS COMPANY IS DOING TO SO MANY PEOPLE AND THEIR CREDIT CARDS. A LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP IS $789, A 5 YR $589, A 2 YR $289, A 1 YR IS $99 AND THEY ALSO HAVE A $59 1 YR PLAN IF THEY SAY NO TO THE $99 ONE. THEY EVEN HAVE A MONTH TRIAL OF $19.95 WHICH "CAN BE CANCELLED AT ANY TIME" BUT THAT IS NOT SAID TO THE CUSTOMERS THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THEY KEEP CHARGING NUMEROUS TIMES UNTIL THEY REALIZE ONCE A MONTH THEYRE BEING CHARGED FOR $19.95 OR MORE. ALSO AT THE END OF THE SCRIPT WHICH YES WE READ A SCRIPT ITS NOT A NORMAL CONVERSATION THE SALES REP TELLS THE CUSTOMER THERE WILL B A FREE 60 DAY NETWORKING CHAT ROOM WHICH THE CUSTOMER NOR I REALIZED AFTER THE 60 DAYS THEY WILL BE CHARGED X AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR IT IT WONT BE AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED. THE BOOK WHICH SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THIS OUTRAGEOUS PRICE FOR A MEMEBERSHIP IS $189 ITS CALLED THE DEFERRED PAYMENT BUT IF YOU WANT CUSTOMERS TO GO WITH THE SALE THE MAJORITY OF THE REPS DONT MENTION THE "DEFERRED PAYMENT" HEY MIGHT EVEN SAY THIS IS YOUR FINAL PAYMENT THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ANNUAL DUES OR FEES. WRONGG! EVERY FEW MONTHS A NEW SALES REP WILL BE CALL FOR SOMETHING ELSE WITHA DIFFERENT PRICE FOR THE BOOK FOR THE PLAQUE FOR MEMBER OF THE YEAR FOR MAN/WOMAN OF THE YEAR FOR VIP. ITS CRAZY. ONE MORE THING ABOUT THOSE AIRLINE TICKETS THEY ARE NOT TICKETS THEY ARE VOUCHERS AND YOU CAN BE WAITING FOREVER TO GET THEM IF YOU EVER GET THEM. I HAVE ALOT MORE TO SAY BUT I THINK IVE SAID MORE THAN ENOUGH.
THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF SCAM ARTISTS. DO NOT ANSWER ANY BLOCKED CALLS OR CALLS FROM 7189328011. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AS WELL AS THEIR EMPLOYEES BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY IM JUST LOOKING OUT FOR THE CUSTOMERS AND FUTURE CUSTOMERS. CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD IF YOU ALREADY PURCHASED FROM THEM BECUASE WHETHER YOU RECEIVE SOMETHING OR NOT THEY WILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE ON YOUR CARD UNTIL YOU REALIZE IT.- Caller: (EX EMPLOYEE)
