Pete Welch led my secretary to believe it was a personal call and was put through to my voice mail. He left a message with his name and phone number and said he had a couple of questions about my company. After googling his name and number, I know he's an advertising salesman. Trouble is, I don't handle advertising. Sorry, Pete, do your research first.

Salesman name Pete trying to sell advertising time on the radio. He was only somewhat annoying but finally took no for an answer.

Pete Welsh - Asked for the owner, I told him she was busy I could help. He refused to leave his name or why he was calling (thank you, Caller ID), he was "too busy to talk to me." Researched his name and number - looks like he sells advertising - dumb move, Pete - I'm the one who deals with that!

called me several times and stated he was promoting a local radio station in Bay Area using our company name as hosting a blood drive and ready to send us an invoice for $165 ! yeah right !! First time he called his message only indicated he wanted to know more about my company... google it you doosh!

This guy ruined a perfectly good Friday! I'm a receptionist at a large company and he expected me to find someone to sponsor his charity but couldn't give me a person's name. We employ 15,000 people!

Same call today for us, except he attempted to make feel like we were missing out on what he had to offer. He employed a really cheap and ineffective tactic. Pete Welsh (Welch) should think about changing his approach. He actually refused to give the name of the company he claimed to be representing. Given the number of experiences people have written about their experiences with him; mostly not good.

Sorry, Sal, but "Hey ________, my name is Pete Welsh. Call me back at 719-543-1912, that's 719-543-1912. I have some questions about your business" isn't exactly forthright.  If that's more professional than any other sales exec you deal with, then we're in trouble.  Sounds like someone who doesn't want to state up front who he is and why he is calling.

Sal. C'mon. Forthright is "This is Pete Welsh calling from (not cba but the NAME of his company) Is (name of person) in charge of advertising? " NOT - "This is Pete Welsh, is (name) there? Well I'm calling about some business with (Name of Company) When will (name of person be in)" What's it regarding Pete" "It's about the company". That's not freaking forthright, and as a sales call, it's not effective. I make 500 calls a week, my close ratio per pick up is 45%. So I think I know what I'm talking about. I'm honest. I'm upfront and I treat every person who answers the phone like the decision maker. Wanna know why??? The person I am calling on has already made a decision to work with that person.

Duh.

Basic sales techniques. Don't be a liar and don't be sneaky. It's not about my company. It's about his company. And that's okay so long as he realizes that my companies time is valuable. That's what living in a capitalist society is all about.

Pete Welch from CBA called to speak with our CEO...did not like being questioned and said our company would be losing out if I did not put him through.  He hung up - good riddance!

Good Old Pete calls 3 times a week and leaves the same message. It for Radio advertising on awful talk radio stations. He always wants to know more about my business. His number pops up on caller ID and let it go to voicemail. The guys sales approach is awful at best.

"Timmy Cartman" and "Michelle Bachley"? I looks like Pete is a fan of South Park and the great Tea Bagger Michele Bachman.

Pathetic.

Looks like "Pete Welsh" is such a do not call violator (scam?) that he has hire one of those pathetic "reputation repair" companies to spam post phony "positive things" about him to try to counter the fact that "Coloradospg" is a god damn scam

Thanks everyone for your comments regarding Pete Welch. I just got his voice message and had a weird feeling about him. I listened to my intuition and decided to look up his number online and came upon this extremely helpful page. Thank you all. No wasting my perfectly good day on returning his call!

@Janet  Yes, Pete may just be doing his job, but he apparently doesn't do it in a very transparent manner.  Instead of stating "I just have a couple of questions for you about (insert company name here)" How about just leaving a message stating your business.  If you're trying to sell me something just say so, if I want it I'll call you back.  If I don't I won't.  Very simple.

I received the same phone message everyone else has "This is Peter Welsh. My number is 719-543-1912, that's 719-543-1912. Please call me back. I have a couple questions about <insert company name here>."

There is no Johnny Wilson and there is no KPW. Johnny Wilson = Pete Welch. Visit www.kpw.org yourself. It's another scam! They are trying to sell their URL for $9,888.

I got the "call me back" message, too. "Wanted to ask me about our publication". Called back and found that he was selling advertising for a local radio station in the Phoenix area.

Just got a call from Pete Welsh as well with a very mysterious message.  Thanks for posting.  Will not waste teh time.
