Yep they tried to scam me on Craigs list also

Hey Sir! I got an email from a James Porter! And that the emailer was hearing impaired. Just curious on this, and yeah the emailer replied to a Craiglist ad.

I am sooooo glad I just read this. I am selling something on Craigslist and they emailed me about it also saying they were hearing impaired and unable to speak on the phone. He or she would send me a postal money order from the secratary and to take my ad off craiglist and then would pick up merchandise.... Thanks for letting people know!!!

The latest one I got is Brian Dexter (benzman01@gmail.com) with that number.

me too! it was a kelly rowland and she said she was hearing impaired and she would send me a money order by ups next day shipping. i ended up not seling to her but before i knew this. has anyone had any further contact with them?? i live alone and they have my address. just wondering....

Got the same thing here for an add on Craigs list from above EM address.  Asking me to take off my listing.  I did then checked here and found this gooooooood info and did not give him/her any info.  Thanks all who reported on this.

I got 2 emails from 2 different email addresses in response to an ad I have on Caigslist. They both sounded very much the same, wanting me to remove my ad and give them my name , address and phone number. Sounded fishy to me so sent emails back to have secretary call me and phone # I had listed in ad for info. I have had no response back. Definite scam of some sort!!

Phone # 720-279-1377 is a landline out of Denver.

Different e-mail again this time too. In order of use.  And he wants to pay me 100.00.  Since I found out this was fruad I sent him a PO Box which he said he would not send a check too and get it to the police which I doubt they can do anything but what the hay.  These people screw up Craigs list and other sites like it.

Hi,how was your day?I want you to understand that the deal is on and
my secretary as posted the payment promptly,but there was a little
problem which i guess we can handle with care while i contacted her to
confirm if the payment as been mail out i was made to understand that
its actually as been sent and but instead of the actually amount for
the item,she made out the check for $2500 she claim that was what i
requested  but she didn't get  that straight.The payment was already
posted before i was inform about this but i wouldn't want this to
delay the sale as i have rectify  this with my Bank and all you do
once you have the payment is to take it to you Bank and have it cashed
and you will then deduct the money for you good plus a 100 dollars for
all the trouble i have put you thought during the course of this
transaction as well as for your running around.The excess fund on the
payment will then be wired to my mover  via western union that same
days so that he can come for pick up as i already plan on using the
excess on the payment to offset the cost of the various shipments he
as undertaken on my behalf.Do let me know if i can trust you to have
the excess sent to my mover thank you,best Regards.

hey me too guy said he was deaf . sold an item for 150. said his secretary made the check out for 1500... i hope they catch him ..

Wasn't a phone call in this case but I traced the email through Google and this page came up. He was using andrew.smart05@gmail.com as an email and gave me the same BS about being deaf, secretary will send certified check, yadda, yadda, yadda.
