called twice yesterday but left no message

Called asking for my ex-husband's brother.  Interesting because I have been divorced for 15 years, lived here for 13 years under a different last name.  They said they did a public records search which linked me to him and that this was "a federal matter".  I gave them no information because I have no information.  Caller ID was "COLLECTO INC"

Called last year- will harrass your phone and your workphone relentlessly

Vultures who dig up old debts for profit

Called about a bill from 20 years ago, calling like maniacs! You would think it happened yesterday, I don't even remember this debt.

They are trying to fish for info.  I have no idea who they are.  I am sure they are just looking our names up in a US phone book but I never lived in the great State of NY.  I am sure it's a nice place :)

Keep getting calls from them.  Very rude.  Calling about Deparment of Education Student Loan

They just called me from this number but left no message and wouldn't say who they were calling for.  If you're not going to tell me who you're looking for then don't call me.

someone told me that I owed 1000 dollars and demanded me to give my bank account information.

Bottom dredging troll called looking for Richard Smith - guy who must have had my number before me - more than 6 years ago, lol. Almost certain that any debt he owed would be past limitation anyway.

Left tons of messages.

EOS CCA is the owner of this telephone number. They practice unfair debt collection tatics and will have a class action lawsuit if they do not straighten out.

Keeps calling me, sometimes leaving a couple weeks between calls. I called the number back one night and it rang and rang. So I kept calling it to let it ring off the hook until someone answered. Finally someone answered and I could hear people whispering to each other. I called back and got a loud fax machine tone, so they obviously set their fax machine to answer after I let that phone ring for 20 minutes.  They want money for state taxes in a state I didn't owe taxes to. I have proof I paid the taxes in another state and contacted the IRS in the state they claimed I owed and appears the state IRS office sells "suspected" debt to these clowns and they call constantly wanting to verify my personal information. I refuse to cooperate with them and just hang up.  It sounds like these people are working from home offices and telecommuting some way from a central call center in Denver or something.  They were very suspect when I continued to call the number on my caller ID when they whispered to each other and played dead on the phone. They want to call you, but won't take any calls themselves and that tells me they are in home offices.  

Monday - Feb. 10, 2014 --- Debt collector, did not leave comp. name but left msg. for specific individual "It is very important that you call us immediately" --- followed by disclaimer, "This is a call from debt collection agency in a lawful attempt to collect a debt"

refuse to state what the call was about. I refused to give info for the person they were looking for. Advised they were in and out of the home and that unless they give info about who they are. I told them that they will probably not get a return call as the person will not call back a number if they don't know what it is about.  sorry people but the federal law goes both ways, you can't say what you are calling about, i can't say where to find the individual....food luck catching up with the individuals...most of us do have caller id and can tell that collecto inc. is probably a collection agency....just say that!!  ugg. call again and i'll call it harassment then they may stop calling....that worked 35 years ago.

Called home number but didn't leave a message.  This is second number for this same company.  Now have both numbers on our blocked list.  Expect this company has twenty or more numbers from which to call and can simply move through a series of numbers hoping someone will answer the call.  

I dealt with a group like this a few years ago and that is exactly what happened to them.  They ended up in a class action lawsuit.  They were actually a public company who had stocks on the NYSE!  I trade a little on the market and looked them up.  They scare people into paying debts they never had or paid off years before.  Especially hard on the elderly and ill people.  I don't remember their names now, but they are real vultures.  I got legal stationary from my attorney and sent a cease and desist letter and that was the end of it.  I didn't owe anybody anywhere a bill and I don't now either.  These bottom feeders just hope to scare people into paying them off, regardless of whether or not they actually owe money.

Missed call no message. I get one of these kind of scams at least once a week. I ignore them. I just delete them out of my phone record. Would never answer them if I don't recognize the number any help.
