i have gotten these kind of texts b4 & hadnt responded till now. dont know if its real or not.

um is this a prank text

you sent me a text saying i won 1000 dollars how do i claim my prize?

Its a lie.  There is no prize.  These messages were sent by thieves.  They will trick you into giving them money.  They will never give you any money.  

Delete the message.  Do not reply to it.

I got a text message on my phone saying i had won a wal-mart gift card.

I think this is fake. Do no text my phone again!

R u sure it's a lie? Didn't recognize the number, and didn't give out my number.Should I go ahead & delete? It gives a code to txt, to ignore.

The message I recieved, came from (310) 729-5871. Is this the same type of message, as from the
(724) 234-0003?

The message I recieved, said u could txt, stopu, to ifnore, and tell the caller not to contact u again. If that helps any.

I recieved the same message, claiming to be from Walmart. Didn't reply, once I saw the messages on the message board, regarding this item. The number listed, as the caller, to my phone, was
310-729-5871. Was slightly concerned, thought I should report the call, here.

If you people had won, you would have had a notice from Walmart to your home in the mail and not on the internet. A note to the wise: never look for something on the internet that you won, always wait for a notice in the mail saying that you won, but make sure that it's a legal from Walmart or whoever sent you the notice with a phone number that is legal number to the prize giver! ! !

Watch this board for a few days.  There are countless threads about WalMart gift cards and Best Buy Gift Cards and gift cards from other companies.  They use lots of different numbers.  All are scams.

Delete the message.  
The scammer is texting lots of numbers without knowing if anybody owns them.  If you reply he will know that your number is owned by someone who texts and replys to texts.  He will send you more scam texts and scam calls.  And he will sell his list of working numbers to other scammers who will text and call you.
