The scumbags with their message from Rachel are back. Always looking for new numbers because most of their old ones are already blocked. ^$%^$% them. I tried to waste their time but when I pressed 1 it just disconnected. I will give them totally bogus info and them blow these [***] off.

"Shaun Caster" said he was in Orlando, Florida, and had a slight British accent. He was able to check the false credit card number without putting me on hold, and also for the later "transposed" sequence. When I replied of how he could tell if was an invalid number, he then said he worked for "Master Card Services", reeling off the numbers of banks, consumers, etc. that they had.

"Shaun" eventually clued in that I was messing with him, and gave the parting comment "Go piss on yourself." (I've been around many Brits, and never have heard that as an insult before)...

Got a call from the above number, didn't recognize it, so didn't answer, no message left.
Googled the number. It was from New Castle, Pa.  If you're reading this Miss or Mr. Scammer, know this, we're after _you, and you won't last long, so just go away.........or, suffer jail time!  Better yet, get a real job, or find a better way to make a living...........

Ask them if they'd like to make this easy, or if they'd like to make this difficult...
Better yet, just answer by speaking in a low and fast voice the following :
    Officer ____________ , ___________ Township Police Department........
they'll hang up quicker than a heart beat!

They just called me, and I waited until someone got on the line.  I told them I was very interested in lowering my interest rates.  So ---- when the rep asked for my credit card numbers, I blew my coach's whistle in the phone and hung up !!!  THEN blocked the number.

Robocall/hangup. It's clear this is a caller ID dipping scheme, with a credit card scam attached at the back end for those fool enough to "press 1."  Be aware that insulting the agent will do no good; some of them are clearly scum and know exactly what they're doing, but others take this kind of job because they can't get anything else. Reporting this operation to the FCC and your representatives in Congress is the only way to get the camel-raping scum-sucking "evileyed - blackhanded - bowlegged - flinthearted - clawfingered - foulbellied - bloodthirsty, morimaite - sincahonda, hoom, well, since you are hasty folk and their full name is as long as years of torment, those vermin of scammers" shut down. It's happened before, and despite the fact that every time they shut one down two more appear, it's the only way to get anything done.

Just remember these filth-eaters make money from their scam whether you even bother to answer the phone or not, that's why it's so profitable for them to run these scams. If they get you hooked on some bogus scheme or get your credit card number, it's icing on the cake for them.

You should string these guys along without giving them anything.

The business model only works if they spend essentially no human time talking to people who won't pony up.  That's why some of the email spam you get is so implausible.  They're not trying to get the largest number of people to respond, they're trying to maximize the percentage of people who do respond (and who therefore begin to take a human's time) who eventually convert to a "sale".  Getting a credit card number improves their win percentage, of course, but the people who hang up before a representative picks up are also doing them a favor.

My personal best is 6 minutes and 28 seconds from the time the scammer answers to the time he hangs up.  I have to be in just the right mood to actually do this, however; most of the time I just ignore it and therefore contribute to the problem to a small degree.

For a source of syntactically valid but fake credit card numbers, see http://www.freeformatter.com/credit-card-number-generator-validator.html .

If you use this tool it'll take a little more of their time to invalidate your credit card number.

Of course, you should tell them plausible amounts for how much balance you would like to transfer, and you should tell them that you have to look for statements, and that you have to dig your credit card out of your wallet in another room, etc.

The card service scammers   WILL   'service' our credit cards,   BUT,   when they finish 'servicing' them, they will have NO available credit remaining! People that are fooled into having their cards 'serviced' will be charged a MINIMUM of $795.00, and many times the ENTIRE amount remaining on the card. The card service scammers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey mainly on the low income, and the elderly, but will cheat anyone that they can!
