- GregAlso received a call from this number, located in Clearwater, FL. Returned the call and it's a solicitation from my tech software or something. I just registered a website so the marketing calls are flowing in like crazy.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- TaryReceiving calls daily -- also just registered a domain so that must put me on some solicitation call list
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AllisonRegistered a domain through go daddy last week and getting a ridiculous number of calls and emails to help me with web design, seo and so on. That is what this call was. Sorry, didn't get the name of the company.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Cindy| 1 replyI just received a call 727-228-9330 (Clearwater, FL) stating they saw I just registered a domain name from GoDaddy. I simply asked what the name of their company was and I was told MyTech Software. I said I'm not interested and hung up.
- Caller: MyTech Software
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Elizabeth| 1 replyThis number showed up on my cell phone; didn't answer, looked it up here. I also recently purchased a domain name from godaddy...thanks godaddy for sharing my private information.
- Dave replies to ElizabethAlso getting calls from this number and they hung up. Seems like it is a company that is targeting new domains registered on Godaddy. They are getting your phone number from the DNS information (aka type who.is into google search) and you will see all your contact information if you did not register for domain privacy.
- Report these ScammersI keep getting the same calls to and they are also spamming my inbox. They just want your credit card information. Report them to the Government's Do Not Call Registry website at: https://www.donotcall.gov/
- Caller: Scam
- JdmdHey godaddy. Offer free whois anonymity or lose me as a customer.
- CrystalRavenGoDaddy does offer anonymity you just have to take it or get screwy phone calls if you dont. But since I dont have the number listed on my website that these people called they didnt get it from godaddy. Its somewhere else that theyre getting them from.
- Caller: unknown hang up
- CraigThis call is a result of predators looking for new domains to target with sales. You have to pay the extra fee for privacy when you register a new domain or your info is public. One way to avoid this is to get a google phone number and use it for websites.
- StevenHI too have been registering domain names through GD... but then as a web developer it's my business. This company called at 5am PST, which is illegal in the first place.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AceRegistered 3 domains with Go Daddy this week and now I'm receiving these solicitations for "time sensitive" services. I've used other companies to register in the past and this is the first time I have had solicitors call me afterwards. Shame on Go Daddy.
- EricI just bought a new domain at namesilo and got this same call, so its not just those that buy from GoDaddy. This is not an ad or anything (no links) but namesilo gives you free free whois anonymity.
- Caller: MyTech Software
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JeremySame info for me; however, I registered at domain.com. Just wanted to help point out that it's not just godaddy.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Another victim of Go DaddyIllegal pre-record to a cellphone on the FTC do-not-call list. Phone showed this number from the criminal-friendly state of FL. GoDaddy puts your contact information in public for scammers to access, and doesn't warn you when you register a URL. GoDaddy rep apologized and suggested a b.s. Google phone number or just a nonsense number like 10 "6's" in a row. To heck with GoDaddy, which uses this as a way to shake you down for their overpriced privacy services.
- Caller: Offering website services claimed to be a Google partner
- Call type: Telemarketer
- PIssed offCalled my cell, I did not answer, they left no message.
I also registered a new domain name with GoDaddy a few days ago (and should not have used my cell number...)
Blocking on my phone.
Go to www.endrobocalls.org and sign the petition. It is by the Consumer Reports Magazine people, and they are pressuring the Feds and phone companies to stop this nonsense. Spread the word ! - Funny thing| 1 replyGet this call five minutes ago.
And they said the call was from godaddy and the person knew my domain name.
The person wanted to verify all my information, my address, my bank card number (what)!!!
I said I didn't give you my card number, the man was angry and said kick me out. - JamesI registered a new domain last week with 1and1.com and just got a call from this same number. I let it go to voicemail.
- CayRegistered on FatCow.com.
Caller knew that and said they needed to confirm my information and that it was very time sensitive or he would have to close my domain. He read me the fake name I used when registering, the google phone number I used, etc. Then asked to confirm my credit card information. I told him 16 random numbers and an expiration date. He said thanks and immediately hung up.
I am curious if he will call back again.- Caller: New Tech?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Sal replies to CindyI just received the same call. The guy sounded like he was 19. I just said wrong number and hung up.
