Received this call at work on a government line - a first for me despite being accustomed to scammers.  The calls are annoying and persistent to say the least, but they won't go away so long as we have gullible idiots living among us who will actually fall for the scams.

They called for the 10th time so i took it.  Since I recently visited one of their affiliate website I was entitled to a $100 gift card.
Spoke to their "agent" and since I am from California (told them California for the state) I am entitled to a $500 gift card. The card is redeemable at Target, Walmart,  and other fine stores. Additionally she started listing what I could buy with it. After going back and fourth with me about my c.c.; I said I know your from India and this is a scam.  She stated she was not from India but was born and raised (and she hesitated - probably to lookup what area the call was supposedly from) in Clearwater Florida. I asked where she got her heavy accent. It's not Floridian. After a few more minutes she gave up trying to convince me she was from Florida and hung up.  I may call back under another name just to waste more of their time.  If it wasn't such a $%^%$$^ scam, it would almost be funny.

    hmm
They might be from the Philippines. There is a company in Clearwater Florida doing a very similar program. If it's the one I'm thinking about they disclose what their gonna bill you after you give them the cc info. Will not tell ypu anything until after you pay them. So like if you want details on what they're billing you for you have to pay them to tell you. Once the get your cc and identity they sign you up for a bunch of legit trial offers. I say legit because they are real. But the catch is they don't allow you to cancel early and if you miss the date to cancel they bill you a lot of money. And maybe ypu get signed up for other trial offers you don't know about tgat give you 15 days to cancel but of course you don't know until after you're billed. At that point all you can do is dispute the cc charges. The gifts are not cash but usually rebates that you mail in to the calling company and they mail you back spendable gift cards if they are legit or still in business. Since most people mess this up most won't get any money fot this that the companies can afford to pay tge consumers that manage to do everything properly. Very little in life comes free and if it were that good the company could run operations using Americans to make all the calls since they are asking for sensitive identity information such as banking info and likely social security numbers. Some are doing overseas copycat scam just to steal cc's off this arrangement offer which isn't all to honest either way. The more honest ones are coming from the Philippines where you have a better chance to legally go after companies but good luck you'll need it legally. One's in India haha forget about it. In India you have no legal recourse. Many from the Philippines are half way legit but it's really hard to know their locations. And then in the Philippines what can happen is the call center person talking to you copies your cc and identity and sells it. So the employee there is the problem not the company. In short never trust India, maybe sometimes trust Philippines. This is a scam legit ir not.

Well.... FYI..... I work in home health.....many of those idiots that you are talking about are not really......they are dementia patients who don't understand what is going on.  I have seen it..... experienced it... I am in home health and I try NOT to allow my dementia patients to answer the phone but sometimes they do and this may be the result.  They do not understand....
