Caller said I was a good customer with VISA and that I was eligible for a lower interest rate.  Recognized this as a scam ... so asked "which bank" so that I could alert MY bank.  Caller would not answer.

Got a call from Unavailable number, offering lower rate ... slowly got some information from me, even though there was a HUGE red FLAG because it came as an unavailable number.  The rep got very pushy wanting my cc number.  I asked for a number I can call them. Person representing themselves as a supervisor with a heavy Indian accent said he was "Mark Benson" ... RED FLAG.  Third big FLAG Calgary's area code is not (727).  I was given 727 470 2360 ext. 8004 to call Mark Benson.  Ah the lure of much lower interest rate (greed) and the fumes from the Fantastic antibacterial cleaner I was using at the time clouded my judgment and I did give my d.o.b. and exp. date.    Called C.I.B.C. and confirmed that they are not offering lower rates to anyone ... of course that is normal and what you would expect as the truth Got a call from Unavailable number, offering lower rate ... slowly got some information from me, even though there was a HUGE red FLAG because it came as an unavailable number.  The rep got very pushy wanting my cc number.  I asked for a number I can call them. Received call from this number today requesting first verification of the 1-800 number on the back of Visa card so they can confirm which bank you deal with, then they know the beginning of your visa number to which they want you to verify the rest to get the lower interest rate, I also saw red flags and refused to give the information, the rep became very pushy and a male supervisor comes on the phone.  Seeing as we all know the great threats of identity fraud and credit fraud, there was no way I was giving them information and that if they were really Visa card services, they would be advising their clients of the same threats and advice not to release such information.  I contacted my card provider anyway to alert them of this call and they reiterated that there is no way Visa would conduct business this way and that I did the right thing.  BEWARE

The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!

I received this phone call the number apearing on the call display was 1-662-473-3002 at 11: 20 am from a certain guy saying his name his John William he had my full adress and said I was paying in time every month so he could lower the rate at 5.9% for life. He gave me another number 727-470-2360 and I asked him is agent number to identify and he start saying I am a [***], many times and told me to put my finger into my rear end... he asked me my bith date and I didn't give it to him.  I used to work for a company on calls and new the rules and regulation and never we could have said what he told me. Not professional at all. Never give private information's about yourself. I called my credit card provider and deposit the information.  take care.

My Call display came up as Unknown Name and the number 1-800-966-2124. I was talking to a person that was claiming to be able to reduce my credit card interest rates to 0.99% for life as long as I keep making my minimum payments on time. I expressed my distrust and they transferred me to their supervisor. I hung up during the transfer because I really didn't trust this call. They immediately called me back and completed the transfer. I then spoke with Mark Jackson, employee ID 110 who regurgitated the same thing the last person told me. He gave me a call back number of 727-470-2360 and told me what time his shift would be over so I could reach him after I "think it over".

Thank you all for reporting this SCAM, I just got called from this number offering the same lower interest on my card. NOTE: they also were using this number:  613-499-2006

I just got a call from 613-499-2006.  Thanks for the warning, I thought it was a scam.

Caller said he was from the US department of treasury and that I was being charged for tax evasion and would be arrested within 30 minutes of the end of the call. Then he hung up.
