but at the same time, --their FACS) headquarters is in mason, OHIO....
while i am sure they have offices in various places through out the country i would assume they would be using a 1-800 number....
i also know that they have a collections department on site in ohio--so i don't think that they would be outsourcing calls to india--but i guess you never know....
i'd look into this before i gave out any information over the phone, such as SS# etc.--
besides-- generally speaking people do not ask for your SS# for verification purposes over the phone when YOU are giving THEM money....
a billing address, account number, phone number or other such information should do....and only as a means to verify the credit card billing address...

They get your cell number and call constantly. I get 18-20 a day!- Hi all,
I'm having the same problem as everyone else here, 2-4 calls a day, no message left, no one says anything on other end of line. (And I do not have a Macy's credit card, nor do I owe them money.) File a complaint online with the Better Business Bureau: www.bbb.org. It only takes a few minutes, and if enough people contact them, I think that Macy's will take action (optimist that I am). They must have outsourced their debt collection to a totally incompetent company.
- Its legit. Its Macy's. They are a pain in the arse. And their auto dialer doesnt work very well as it takes forever for them to come on the line....
Technically they HAVE to do an ID&V for any outbound collections call. If they were to tell ANYONE else in the household or outside the household (lets say a nanny) that they are collecting a debt your next call to them should be for them to wipe your debt clean as that is a violation of the law.
- I have been receiving calls from this number 727-556-5772. They do not leave a message. Today, I was home and picked up the phone, and the woman asked for a ??? person....(Her accent was so thick, I could barely understand her). When I informed her that she had the wrong numbner she then hung up. The caller ID reads "MCCS". I haven't had a Macy's credit card in over 10 years. And I do not behind on any payments on the cards I DO have.
- Same here. And I do have cards with these stores (which I will burn ASAP). They called me one day to tell me I have a past due and when I called them back they could not link my name to the card they had claimed I owed $ for. Ridiculous, unprofessional, fraudulent. They guys was in India obviously and could not communicate for the life of him. If the phone calls continue, I am reporting this to the police
