jeffrey Bernstein23 Mar 2007- Richard23 Mar 2007Called several times. I researched the number and it is a collection agency for Macy's and Bloomingdales. My outstanding balance was $16.82 any they were calling no-stop. The number is 727-556-5772 and it comes up on caller id as Clearwater Florida.
- New Jersey23 Mar 2007I gotten approx 12 calls from this number so far. I get about 1-2 phone calls a day, except for weekends. The first came on 3/13, and the last one came this morning. I finally decided to google the phone number, since they never leave messages, and boy was I surprised when I found this! I have not picked up, nor have I returned any of their calls. I do have a Macy's account, so I am assuming that is how that got my information. What can we do to stop this??
- We, too, have been receiving phone calls from this number on my girlfriend's cell phone which we've only had for about 2 months. The phone would ring and the number would appear on the Caller ID, but when she'd answer, they wouldn't say anything. All you could hear was background noise and others on the phone as if in a call center.
I finally called the number back and after 2 unsuccessful calls, finally spoke with a human being. The company is out of Florida and announced themselves as "Credit Services". I explained the situation and the woman told me her company is associated with the Macy's and Bloomingdale's credit cards. I explained that we didn't have either of these accounts. She did a reverse look up of our phone number and told me the name of the person they were looking for. Needless to say, it wasn't us. She informed me that the phone number would be taken off the call list.
The customer service reps name was Gloria Holmes and she told me if there were any problems in the future to ask for her by name. I hope that helps. Good luck with the annoying calls.- Also got calls from this number on my cell phone. Only family & friends have this number, which I've had for 6-7 years. I don't have a Macy's or Bloomingdale's account. Called back and asked what information they had for my # and it was another woman's name. I was told my # would be removed from their database. Hope that's true....
So if you're puzzled about why you would be getting calls, it's a good idea to call. Just don't give them info (they wanted my husband's name since he has a Macy's card) and insist that they look up your info using the phone #.
- minnesota23 Mar 2007I have been recieving calls from this number for the past week my bill was for minimum payment of 5.00 Due a week ago. I have recieved collection calls before but it ususally takes more then a week before it gets sent there and never from this number. Ususally it is a 1800# so I appreciate the information on this site.
- RHODE ISLAND23 Mar 2007they called me six times today and never left a msg, and when i do call back there's this silent pause and then it says your call maybe be monitored, then it says something like credit services...what the hell is that? they keep calling me constantly and i pay my bills on time!
- David24 Mar 2007I got 3 calls this week from 1-727-556-5772 on my cell phone asking for someone that certainly didn't have a common name. I advised them each time I was on the no-call list and don't call back. Didn't work for the next 2 calls. I would suspect either a collection agency or telemarketer. Usually friendly and say they'll take care of the problem.

- what i suggest is if youhave a fax machine you could try annoying the heck out of them by sending blank calls to them. my fax machine will call them atleast 5 times and when they pick up they'll get that crazy fax sound. And if you have two fax machine you could double your ability to annoy them. this would be great if 10 or 20 people decided to flood them together.

- David26 Mar 2007Got another call today from this same number 1-727-556-5772. And as some of the other comments, it must be collection agency for Macy's. The message that was left the other day was to call 1-800-872-9669. It was in regard to a Macy's bill. For what is worth, I reported the 800 number this time.

- John27 Mar 2007Same here, Im up to 20+ calls now, four people told me the number would be removed. They still call. I got a company name from one of them, HCL Technologies, select services for Macy's and Bloomingdale's. I've already alerted Macy's to see if this is a company they use. However, since every phone call they ask for a different person, I know this is a scam. The last rep asked for my name, I only gave my last name, he claimed he needed a name for the report, I didn't think my last name was bad to give. I gave no other information. Everyone speaks with an Indian accent. I registered with the DO NOT CALL registry but must wait 30 days before I can file a report, be assured I will!

- Amy B28 Mar 2007I've been receiving calls from this number for the past two weeks. I do not answer, since I don't recognize the number.. and a message is never left on my voicemail. On a side note, I recently got a bill from Macy's saying I had an overdue balance of around $50 that I didn't know about. I swear I never received the first bill from them. Anyway, I have since paid the Macy's bill and will be curious to see if the calls from this number now stop coming in.
