Got a call from this number. No message. Called them back. Something about my computer was sending them messages. I asked how they got my phone number and what that had to do with my computer. Their response was " I am just an employee." I hung up. Moments later got another call from same number with someone swearing at me and wishing my death upon me. I hung up. Get a life!

called our cell phone from this number. Similar to what adam says. Guy with Indian accent said hes from Windows Help and Support. Said we had dangerous signals and errors coming from our computer and wanted me to type in some code to find the problem. Told him no and he perssistantly kept calling back. When I told him I was on to him he cursed and made threats. Putting police on notice. Traced number to Newport Richey east Fla. but probably routed from India

I've gotten 3 calls from this guy who says he's from windows and wants me to turn on my computer so he can clean it up.NO way.Today he has called 3 times.What do you do about this except hang up?

That is probably what it is.

A guy with a heavy Indian accent called our house this morning wanting to talk to my sister.   He knew her name.  However, my sister is at graduate school right now in another state, and she lives on campus.   My mom answered the phone and told him that my sister wasn't home.   He told my mom that he had an error report for my sister's Windows computer, and he insisted that she needed to turn it on immediately.

My sister has two Windows computers in our basement, but neither have been turned on for years.  She currently uses a Mac, and she has that with her at school.  

My mom was obviously suspicious of the caller.  However, she asked for his name and phone number so that my sister could return the call.   He gave his name as Richard Williams, and gave the phone number 727-569-8324.  

When my mom told me about the call, I immediately suspected it was a scam.

Just to be sure, my mom called my sister and asked her if she was having any computer problems.  She of course said no.  (My mom was thinking that maybe my sister had computer problems where she worked, which wouldn't have made much sense, as my sister would give the phone number of the company she works for instead of our home phone number.)
