Caller did not leave a message; they just hung up when my answering machine picked up the call.

Sounded like a recording. "Hello this is Jonathan from Home Security Center". Then silence.

Pain in the butt.  Same as the rest.

When I don't recognize the name and/or phone # that appears on the caller ID, I depress the "talk" button followed by the "off" button. Supposedly the line goes dead for the caller. If it's important, they'll call back. After reading comments, I'm not going to try calling the # only to be aggravated.

Claims to be giving away GE security systems. Another bs call...

CID showed 727-947-1205 Tarpon Springs FL. Answered "who's calling" then after no response-I said "hello" then a recording started. This is Jonathan...GE Home Security System...with all the break-ins in the neighborhood...do you own your own home? I said "yes" then a live person came on the line. Said he was Fiore, asked him the name of his company, said GE Home Security. Asked if we had done business with them before, he said no. Asked if this was a charity, no. Asked if they abide by the DoNotCall List, he said yes. I told him we were on the DNC list. He asked if I wanted to hear what he had to say. I said no, and asked for them not to call us again. He hung up. I called the ph# back using *67 to block my #. Got a recording. None of our reps are available right now. If you rec'd a call from this # you should receive a call back. If you believe you received this call in error, please press 5 to be added to our DNC list. I have been receiving these calls for many  years from them.  The phone# may be different but the purpose of their call and the company name they claim remains the same.

If you are on the DNC list please take the time to file a complaint with FTC, I finally did today...

Keeps calling... won't leave a message and won't answer if you do answer the phone.

I used to get many telemarketing/scam calls.  My phone is via cable and I use a Panasonic telephone that has a setting to disable the first ring.  My computer does not have a voice modem, so I purchased one for $10.  The software I use is called Phonetray Free and works great.  After the first call, a number is blocked and then no more calls.  Each call is in a log. The software also allows blocking of entire AREA CODES (like New York area, Miami, California, etc.).  Only spoofed numbers can pass but since most spoofer are not too bright, they use the same number therefore no problem.  My call volume has dropped by 99%.  Phonetray Free has been replaced by Phonetray Pro from Softonic ($30).  I have no personal stake in any of this.

I hope their homes get robbed
